IM inject question

drow

New member
Ok. Im on week 11 of a 16 weeker of test e @300mg and eq @300mg blend. Last night I did a quad injection. I have been splitting the injections in half every time. So I inject 300 into the right quad and 300 into the left quad two times a week. The reason I do this is because I have found that a 300mg injection hurts alot less than 600mg into one spot. Ya ya im a pussy. Whatever. Well my right quad has really been hurting for like 3 days now. I have a small knot under the skin and my quad is swollen. I might add that in using 23 guage 1 inch pins. I think my injection site was a little low and I don't think I went deep enough. The injection site was about 2 inches above the knee cap and 1 inch to the right. Is this to low? Also, with a 1 inch pin, should I bottom out the needle? I have been going about 3/4 of the way in and I haven't had a single problem so im kinda confused. I don't have hardly any fat on my quads either. I saw a diagram online that talked about IM injections and it showed that the best place for quads was about half way up the quad and .5 inches to the right. Anyone got any thoughts?

Hey drow. You're not a pussy for slamming all your gear in one site. I would say that your injection site was too low. As for needle depth, you should never force a needle in. Your muscle will stop the needle at the right depth assuming you are using proper injection technique. If the injection site is lean (not much fat/sub q tissue) 1" should be enough. If you have to work through some padding, use a longer needle. PM me if you have any questions.

Thanks for the responces homies. Ya, i would agree that it was too low. Im going to try about mid way up next time and see what happens.

The pain will prevent you from pushing the plunger or the bone itself will prevent you from pushing it? coz i always seem to feel a lil pain while the needle is inside..

I would say both.

Kechav, there can be some discomfort with an IM shot. I usually don't feel a thing, but sometimes there is some discomfort. I think I need to make a video on proper injection technique as seeing it would be easier than describing it. The shit I've seen on Youtube is frickin' scary!

I agree; it sounds like you were too close to the knee. If you got a deep muscle hematoma, it can take a few weeks to go away. It will be sore, and swollen, and unfortunately not much you can do about it. It will go away on its own though, unless you have diabetes or other issues. See a doctor if in doubt.

Your gear isn't wasted if too deep, as far as I know. If you hit the bone, you'll know it. Been there done that! Just back out a half inch, go ahead and inject, and you're fine. Only problem would be if you stick yourself with too much force and hit the bone, you'd dull the needle and bend the tip over. If that happens, get a bullet to bite on, because you just created a fish hook which must now be ripped out, slicing muscle on the way. Ouch! But again, that doesn't happen unless you really jam the needle in, and nobody should be doing that. I've seen some bros take the "do it like you're throwing a dart" technique too literally, though. Just stab with enough force not to get hung up in the skin and muscle sheath. Not like you're blowing a concrete nail in.
