The Detroit Red Wings are winning the cup this year with ease. Bret Hull just signed on for 2 yrs. Add Robitaile, and all world goalie in Hasek pssshhh its over with. Can't wait to hit them playoff games, and live it up.
Add Stevie Y., Federov, and Shanahan to the mix, along with Lidstrom holding the fort down on d. Psh its on.

Its gonna be a very interesting year. Philly has a good shot w/ some of the aquisitions they've made in the off season and getting rid of that baby Lindros. Keep your head up Eric.

I'm loving the Wings' chances this year.

Lindros must have said every cliche in the book in the NY press conference. I'm sure he'll get a real warm reception when he comes back to Philly on a road game.

Thay only have a year or two at most to make another run. That's it.

Gotta link on Brett Hull signing?

Detroit are you kidding me?

They are to old now. Hasek is definatly a big addition but Hull is average second liner now who admittidly is only still playing for the cash, he is back to his old lazy ways, hopefully he can get motivated again and Robataile as much as I like him won't have close to another year like last year.

Can't see them getting by Colorado or St Louis( if they ever get a goaltender)

Heres the link to Hull's signing

Link didnt' work. Even though Detroit is old they have depth. If they play top notch hockey they can beat Colorado, St. Louis, or any other team for that matter.

Spoken like a person from Mi LOL j/k

I will see it when I believe it man, they looked pretty bad in stretches last year. I can't see that old a line up playing top notch hockey for a full season. The age thing can either be a good thing or a bad thing come playoff time. All depends on how beat up they are. Last year come playoffs they looked ugly.

Try this link http://www.canoe.ca/

and go to the story

Ever notice how much shittier they play in 3rd period? All the old guys are worn out by that point.

Exactly, their only hope is to get into the playoffs healthy. Once there Hasek can win at least 2 games a series by himself if he is on, but again if more then 1 series goes 7 games they are screwed because of age and the toll of playoff hockey.

I FUCKING HATE the wings... but if someone can sit here and tell me "on paper" the wings are not the best team... possibly ever... they are fucking morons.

Ever!!! Not even if it was 1996, not even close.

Can I have what you have been smokin;)

lol @ this post.

c'mon man...the red wings keep getting older and older which they just confirmed by signing hull. he's a good player but before this team can even think about a cup they need to find the fountain of youth and dunk half their team in it.

devils and colorado are still strong.

Exactly bro, the difference with Colorado and the Devils over Detroit is even after they won the Cup they still made changes.

Detroit has been trying to win with the same core which just got older and it ain't going to happen.

P.S. Its also my birthday so even if you don't agree with me, wish me a happy birthday ;)

Happy B-day. You are definitely right about their core being too old. But with the depth this team has, they can keep their old legs fresh enough to play 60 minutes of hockey. This will be their final year before they have to restructure the team. They paid enough money on their roster to win the cup, now they better do it.

Watch for the new Torpedo system they will imply this year. New forechecking will send in 2 wingers and leave the center in mid ice. If they cna change little details, I honestly think the wings have a chance of winning. They have to understand the old farts can't skate up and down the rink anymore.

I hated to see Hull leave Dallas the way he did, but he is older and slower.

He didn't leave...they kicked his ass out.

Detroit is gonna be whipping out their oxygen tanks between periods. Rookies and the older vets in the league have the same problem w/ not playing top notch hockey come the 3rd period. Bourque was an exception to that though. Definatly one of the best d-men to play. I'm gonna miss watching him play.

January 12th is Lindros' first home coming thats gonna count in the standings. I think he's gonna try to send a message by going after one of the smaller players on the Flyers like Recchi <whos a fucking tank at his height>, and Gagne. For his sake he better keep his dome up when crossing the blue line, b/c McGillis will not hesitate in knocking it off. And I'm sure Stevens will be head hunting when NYR and NJ go at it.

I'd be more worried about the Philly fans if I were Lindros.

Well I hate to say it but I think my Flyers have had by FAR the best offseason plus they finally have a good kickass coach. I mean they sign Roenick, Dopita(who's supposed to be awesome) and add in Primeau ( who really came into his own last year)and there are three world class centers. Then add Recchi, Gagne, Toccett, LeClair and Fedotenko plus the new additions of Hlavac and Brendl. Our defense got upgraded bigtime with Weinrich and FINALLY a puck carry defenseman Johnsson to go with McGillis and Desjardins and LUUUUUUKE ( who had a good year too). Our goalie kinda folded in the plyoffs but he had played alot more games last year than he ever played in Europe and he was worn down................Sure the Devils are awesome but they mostly stood pat and lost arguably their best scorer. Gonna be fun!!! Plus we may be dressing two enforcers this year...he,he

The West is too tough a conference for the old Red Wings. St. Louis and Colorado are too strong. Maybe if they were in the East they'd have a shot. I look for Philly to have a good year too. Also NJ and Toronto.

LOL at Latimer. I think that if Hull is only in it for the money then he should get his ass out of the game.

I think Philly would've did better in the playoffs if they let Bouch start. Czechmanek is good, as good as Hasek, but didn't get the media attention, but to put a first year player in the position is hard on a guy, and not everyone can show up like Boucher did a few years back. It'll be a very interesting season though.
