If Carbs and Fats don't go together...

How come a lot of people in these forums drink their morning oats with Flaxoil???

I figure the quantities are not enough to trigger any "bad response", but a typical glass of oats have something like 33 grams of carbs and 2 tpspoons of flax account for 27 grs FAT... so those two numbers look high in my book...

Anybody has any ideas on this??? Is it OK to have at the same time your oats and your flax?

Peace

I think the main concern is to avoid consuming mass quantities of high glycemic carbs (i.e., simple sugars, processed flour, etc.,) and fat at the same time (e.g., donuts and whatnot).

I think it depends on your body type

some people do much better not mixing fat and carbs in the same meal. Other people have no problems with it, it's a matter of finding out what works best for you.

I thought you were going to say that FAT in the morning would slower the digestion, which is a bad thing. You want to go out quickly of your morning's catablic state, due to the long night fasting.
Your concern wasn't as expected :)

I have no problems with oats + 1 tblspn of flax or fish, but two may be a little too much fat in one meal for my ratios.

I usually have a breakdown on breakfast like 35 grams protein / 30 g carbs / 10g fat
