I kinda screwed up my satchet transfer, input please.

I was extracting from it and probably about half way through I accidentally went through the satchet and the needle scraped a sheet of cardboard paper that I had the satchet cliped to. I continued anyway.

I was having a hard time extracting the oil (EQ) with my 20 cc syringe (18g pin) and was drawing out 4-7 cc's at a time only so it took me 4-5 times to empty it, thats where my problem occured most likely. 2 many attempts, and reinsertions etc.

So I am assuming what I have in my 20 cc vial now is somewhat less than sterile and am wondering if I can microwave the vial (vented with a sterile pin) for 3-6 minutes or so and resterilize it???

I did wipe the satchet thoroughly with 2 alcohol swabs and also my hand and fingers with a couple 2.

Next time I will use either a plastic canula or a blunt fill needle for sure while extracting.

Thoughts please?

ps FYI... I did not inject any yet of course. also I doubt that I got 20 cc of oil closer to 16-18, but I am fine with that. The 20 cc vial appears to be 80% full, it does not have any markings to indicate the fill line/level.

I need to have an antibiotic on hand as well what kind, Amoxicillin? from which online Pharm.?

same thing happened to me lol i couldnt draw the stuff out...eventually i just cut the top of the satchet so i could justopen it and did it that way

Hmm,

You cannot microwave it. Yes, I tried it once when converting f.ina. The venting needle fucking blew up and put fine metal pieces all thru the gear. Not only that, but the metal cap started sparking.

You need to boil or bake it. Boiling is better IMHO. Put a vent needle in the top, make sure you secure the vial because it WILL tend to tip over getting water into the vial.

Lightly boil the water and put the vial inside for 5 - 7 minutes. Allow to cool some and remove vent needle.

BTW, when I say the vent needle blew up, if fucking vaporized - BOOM. No shit, it disappeared and put this black "dust" like gunk in the gear.

I may just dump the contents into the back of a 10 or 20 cc syringe and then inject it into a vial. I can easily steriize a small pair of scissors with alcohol and or a lighter. Less manipulation equals better sterile technique imho.

Also your microwave may have been way too hot, I have a lower wattage oven that I can also cook on lower percentages of power if I choose.

Bump.

yeah the satchets were cheap but im never ordering them again....the stuff is so damn thick you have to heat itup before drawing it out which is annoying as helll!!! the masteron i got wont even go threw an 18 gauge easily

^^^^^ I was thinking the same..........I was using 21ga pins and it took forever. With my oral dbol, I just cut the top and transferred to an empty Scope travel bottle (44ml) handles 2 sachets nicely, and I can keep it in my desk at work.

The biggest mistake was that I only had 3cc syringes on hand when transferring the c.y.p. and it took a lot of re-insertions, but everythings fine.......I have been using it for two weeks now and all is GTG.

so what should i do exactly to re sterilize my vial? I have a black and decker toaster oven that heats up quickly and I was thinking of putting my vial on the tray for 25-30 minutes after it fully heats up to about 275 degrees or should I go higher in heat or longer in time?

I probably could just boil water in a coffee mug and secure the vial upright in the cup (after it is out of the microwave) until it cools to room temp.?

thoughts appreciated

someone lready told you. Dont microwave. You can bake itbut you gotta put a needle to vent it or you will have a nasty mess. boiling is prolly the better way to do it. again use a vent needle

theres absolutely no reason to use a vent needle.- unless the vial is full to the brim
dont be sterilizing scissors and shit, man thats ghetto
boiling it will no do a goddamn thing to sterilize, nor will a microwave

get a whatman, and filter into a sterile vial, done and done

Wrong - except for the filter part. Filtering is best, no doubt. But who keeps them on hand? Just not practical in this case as he needed a quick fix. In this case, boiling was the right answer.

No vent needle? You've clearly never done it.

Boiling doesn't sterilize? Since when? What is an autoclave for?

I agree,a vent needle to relieve the pressure from building inside the vial when inserting the gear is seriously needed otherwise it would take forever.I've done this shit loads of time.

That is the only solid advice I have seen in this thread. I have been homebrewing for a while and rjl296 speaks the truth. The only way to fix this problem is to buy a clean vial, get a filter, and then filter the gear into the new clean bottle.

Additionally, if the gear is contaminated baking the gear WILL NOT kill all of the bacteria. BA is what kills bacteria. Furthermore, baking the gear WILL NOT remove any foreign particles you have in the gear. Filtering will do that (and also remove some bacteria).

If BA did such a great job of killing bacteria, mexican gear would be the cleanest shit around.

Time for a reality check - NOTHING you inject is truly sterile.

When you inject air into the vial prior to drawing it out - you just introduced contaminates and bacteria. Are you going to filter it again? How about filtering the air?

When you swab the top of the vial - do you REALLY think you just sterilized it? No

When you swab your skin - do you REALLY think you just sterilized your skin? NO.

When you cut yourself, do you freak out? When your gums bleed after brushing your teeth - do you know how much bacteria is in your mouth?

My point is - don't be reckless or careless - but do keep a certain amount of common sense. Be as sterile as you can, but realize there are limits to what you can practically do.

Try the microwave thing with that METAL needle, and let me know how that works out. :lightning
