I have 3 roomates. One robbed me. Lets play detective.

Banned
Roommate 1: DWM 35. Jobless, carless, kicked out because of not paying rent and currently living with his girlfriend. Mechanically inclined.

Roommate 2: SWM 29. Has crap job buying and selling used cars. Not motivated. Petty loser who has never amounted to anything.

Roommate 3: SWM 32. Ex-marine and homeowner. Currently under financial stress because a business he started is failing. Mechanically inclined.

Someone took my credit card number (not the card) and on June 28 spent $680 at a salvage yard 30 minutes from my house. Who?

Feel free to ask questions if you want to play.

What does #3 business involve, and what was bought @ the salvage yard?

I say it was #2

Loving the avatar!

My jaw is starting to clench just looking at the pics.

BRB I need a bottled water.

just do like SS back in the WW II were doing: kill them all so you'll be sure the right one was punished lol

#3 is failing at a suppliment business, and supplementing his income in other unscrupulous ways to make ends meet.

Do I KNOW it wasn't one of the three, no. BUT I never charge anything on that credit card. So it isn't exactly as though the numer is floating around cyberspace.

Just grab the one you suspect most by the hair and yell "I'm going to punch you right in the fucking face!!" Now, punch him right in the face. Again. Once again.

Say "Who's the little bitch now, huh?"

"Who's the little bitch-boy, Nancy?"

Now, punch him in the face again. Harder. Again.

He should be pretty well collapsed by now. Sit down next to him and whisper, "why'd you do it? why did you steal my CC number?"

If he's like, "Dude, WTF are you talking about?" you might have the wrong guy. Go the the next guy and repeat the process.

how can someone buy something in person with a credit card number and no card???

And why would someone buy a fucking engine??

my theory--If one of your roomates has the hookup on the black market--ie. drugs, stolen goods, then I would blame him cause he would know someone that he could sell the engine to.

I would blame roomate #2, being a used car dealer, he is already dishonest and money hungry. He would have a reason to buy an engine.

and how can the salvage yard not be sure what they sold on your credit card. Shit I would take them to court, first they sell a 680$ something to someone with somebody who has a creditcard # and no card, then they say they don't know what it was?? sounds fishy, I smell conspiracy between the salvage yard and the used car dealer.

Leave your credit card on the kitchen table with a string tied to it.

Run this string through three pulleys, on against the wall, one at the top of the wall, and one just over the credit card.

Attached to this string is a water balloon filled with hydrochloric acid.

Leave a note next to credit card: "PLEASE DO NOT TAKE MY CREDIT CARD."

Go to bed.

Apprehend suspect.

Otherwise, take a trip with your attorney to the salvage yard and threaten to sue for credit card fraud and whatever other charges your lawyer can invent unless they provide you with all information regarding the individual who made the $680 purchase.

Kick out the perpetrator, sue him, and then sue the salvage yard anyway even though they gave you the information.

Good luck.

My credit cards were stolen by a roommate and
he charged thousands. It is not your responsibility
to figure out who did the theft.

Call police and report a stolen credit card.
You'll have to make a statement, and sign it, but
that can often be done in your home, not at the police station.
Call the card company and report it stolen. NOW!
Time is of the essense, the sooner the better.
Company will write off the theft, you may owe
no more than $50. But they will require that you
file a police report.
If you delay, or if you fail to file a police report,
then you are responsible for the full amount.

Bullshit, they are his roomates he better find out who did it. But your right its not his financial resp. Thats what credit cards are for call them up tell them you didnt buy it and they take care of it from there on.. Shit one of my buddies in college charged 11k to 4 cards and a month later said it was stolen - they fucked around with him, like why didnt you call earlier if it was stolen but in the end they forgoe the charges.
