I cant wait until I see Jordan........

pierce needs to work on his d, though (don't let steals stats fool you into thinking he's a good defensive player).

he CAN score, though. celts will be good if they could only get an interior presence (and stop antoine walker from jackin' up threes...at one point early last year he was leading the league in 3 pt. attempts. wtf?????)

go celts!

Jordan will NEVER let himself get schooled by anyone. What he MAY lack in athletic ability, he will more than make up for with strategy, and court smarts. It's never over 'til it's over!

not to mention the fact that the refs will give him EVERY call. don't even breathe on him or it'll be a foul...

however, i hope he DOES do well...he's always been pretty classy and will give some of us other elder statesmen some inspiration....

paul pierce please............the only players that will be able to challenge jordan will be kobe and vince!

ray allen is going to be giving him fits too. allen houston and spreewell will make him work on the defensive side also.

Then there's steve francis, stackhouse, mike finley and jalen rose. there are a lot of good shooting guards in the NBA.

hey kakdeisel, here's a reply on behalf of his Airness:

you are a moron who has probably never played in a competitive league before in his life! you're right about one thing though, i never did have to play against those players when they were at their peak, i was too busy beating half of the greatest players of all time out of the playoffs, or droping sixty three points in the playoffs against your little celtic dynasty! now tell me more about this paul pierce character, you say he plays ball to eh, funny, i've never heard of him!

Mike

P.S. don't lie, anyone who likes the celtic's has never had a girlfriend before!

I'm also a Celts fan so maybe some of you could answer this question for me. Why did we use our 3 first rounders on players who are all essentially 2 guards, especially when we already have a good one in Pierce?

Holy shit, fellas.

I ain't a Bulls (let alone a Wizards) fan, but damn, how
can you doubt Michael?

Sure, he's 38. Sure, he's got nowhere to go but down,
but fuck, he's at least EARNED our patience to wait and
see what he's got before we bury him.

As an old Pistons (late 80's-early 90's) fan, I learned long
ago to hate MJ, but I also learned to respect him as the most
fierce competitor to ever play competitive sports... He'd
just as soon cut your nuts off if that's what it took to win,
and there's no reason to think he's lost that "edge"...and
as long as he's got it, I think whatever else he's lost physically
will be trivial.

Remember the comeback, part one? Remember when the
Bulls lost that playoff game against the Magic because Nick
Anderson stripped Jordan of the ball to seal the Orlando
victory? Remember how EVERYONE was saying that MJ had
lost it?

Only time will tell if Michael has still got it, and what, if anything,
that means for the Washington Wizards' success, but whether
you like him or not, Michael Jordan is back... and don't even
tell me you ain't gonna be watching.

Ok, I guess this is the 'let's bash Kakky' thread on the sports board now since he deserves it...

Larry Bird the greatest player of all time? Puhlease!!!! Out of all the great players that have played in the NBA you've got to pick the only white guy who can't jump?

Michael Jordan will still be a great player even if he is only half as good as what he was before. Now, whether or not he will win a championship with the wizards that's the big question.

As far as Kobe goes, he's nowhere near Jordan at his prime.

hardgainer (I wanna be like Mike...)

That's it exactly, he has nowhere to go but DOWN. Why can't great athletes just go out on a high? It's like the great fighters coming back just once too often (I.E. Sugar Ray) & getting their ass handed to them by some young buck. Jordan says that he got inspiration from Mario's come back, but the difference is Mario went out on terms not of his own making. He got healthy and came back as good as ever... he had nowhere to go but up. Jordan will be good at best... not great. This comeback will do nothing but tarnish the Jordan mystique. Sadly.
