I can't do the JUNE meet, FL crew

Sorry guys I got sooo pumped up about doing my next meet in JUNE and I was looking at my graduation dates and everything and it seems like I can't do that meet. But since I can't do the one JUNE 1st then I'm looking forward to doing the APF JULY 20th meet(is this right GRIMM). I hope I can do that one and break the APF record for deads, that's my goal I believe I was lookin around and the APF record said in my case was 550lbs. So I know it's pushing it but I'm gonna be training mostly deads, since i'm good at it.

PLJAY, jimmydean, akatapout, GRIMM, FREAK19 and anyone else???? Are any of you guys doing this meet in TAMPA on july 20th????
 
Right now our plan is to hit the June meet. We are also trying to have a push/pull in May but we might try to do the July meet.
 
If its in Tampa either way i will come help you regardless. So just plan on that meet. It will be fun for ya. BUt i will tell ya knwo the meet you need to focus on now is a Dec meet in Dytona. Its a three lift also . We will get on that one as it becomes the next goal.
 
I had planned on lifting in the June meet. But life, as it has a way of doing, has gotten in the way. Looks like I will be relocating soon. No complaints here though....definitely headed in the right direction. With the moving and all I'm sure my training will be off. Though I might try to attend the meet to chear you guys on. Nothing like Daytona in the summer.

PLJAY thanks alot bro i really do appreciate if you go up there. I wish I could go to the JUNE meet but with everything I got goin on now it's better i work on training then graduating and then worry about my meets. If there is a 3lift in daytona in december I'll see and try and do that one by that time i'll be in college so it's a whole other ballpark there.
HANN bro where've you been on here you've been lost lately. it sucks that movin is gonna mess up your training but if your headed in the right direction then GREAT. Are you moving north or south.

Head WEST young man....definitely the right direction. Will still compete in Daytona in the future.
 
Aigh thats cool bro well if you decide to compete in daytona in december let us know when u know u can do it for sure. as of now i'ma do july in tampa and daytona in december.

December in Daytona is what I am planning. When I know for sure I will post. Good luck in Tampa.

hey thanks. It turns out i'm good for pullin (long arms) and it'd be great to meet another member of the FL crew that no one knows of yet. I say this b/c you said once in a post "for right now i'm hannibal" or somethin like that meaning no one knows about you YET!!!! am i right. So someone will know you in december as of now.
 
thats my b-day and ill be on vacation at the beach that week ---but if im not at th beach yet that day then ill be there is it a 3 lift or bench or push/pull if its a p/p or bench i might do it with you

Alright, heres the deal. I was wrong about the July 20th meet. Its in daytona and is a push/pull but still worth going to. The Tampa one is an AAPF May 11 so i don't think that is the one ffor you. Go to www.hugeiron.com and they will have a list of all the apf meets most of them are in FL. Decembers is a Full meet and you will be lifting on NOV. 30th with the lightweight divisions i think.

I have met hannibal before and he is like 6'2" and just huge. Good luck man wherever it is. Where to? I just m oved here from Colorado.

Well thanks but HUGE is a relative term....when you met me I was pretty small. As for where to...headed West. Got one of those offers that's to good to refuse.

Kinda hard to leave such a lifting hot bed as Florida. But thats what they make planes for.
 
GRIMM thanks bro I'll look around that site it's always good well if it's in daytona it's stil the same amount of driving and I like push/pull meets better either way. Reason for it is I stil havn't got use to squatting without the pussy pad so I'm workin on it now. SO which meets are you plannin on doing both the july and december. If it's nov for me that's gonna suck b/c I like liftin with the crew the motivation is great almost the same as if my brother was there, just louder:D . If you end up doing it december 1st b/c of weight then i'll go as a spectator and just watch you guys and help in any way I can and if jimmy dean is doing this meet then I'll be the spotter(if it's cool with you guys) i'm not sure I can lift off for JAY i've never handed anyone 600lbs+.

Hann let me know if your doin the july one or just the december one it's good to know whose plannin on doin what.

Bro , the heavyweihgt for Dec is on THe 1st so you will be there anyway. As of now i will just do the June 1st and the dec 1st. I got a raod trip this summer for a few weeks around July 4th so i won't be ready for the July 20 meet.
 
Aigh man that's cool I sent that email addy on there a email to see if they considered a 181 or 198lber a heavyweight or lightweight SO I won't miss the meet. And about the june 1st too bad I'm so far away or else I woulda loved to go watch the FL crew back in action either way good luck and train smart for it bro. And about the road trip have fun and make sure u don't do nethin dumb.

Aigh that's cool I know that deciever tried it with cookie dough instead of ice cream so I gotta try these other ideas. I mean since right now I'm not really worried about weight might as well make the protein shakes taste good instead of "edible"
 
I GOT GREAT NEWS FOR JULY 20TH

Guys those that know me the FL crew and others that i've spoken about my lil bro, well I convinced him tonight to get back to training with me so I now have a partner:D BUT EVEN BETTER I got him to do the JULY 20th meet with me too. he'll be in the 13-15 age division and either 181 or 198 weight class:D . He doesn't weigh more than me right now but the same as me since we have to most likely weigh in the same day I don't wanna deprive myself of food and I told him the same thing so I don't know, neither does he know, how much we'll weigh for the meet. So we start monday hardcore training like if the meet was a month away although it's 4 months away.

As of now my bench(pause) 250lbs dead 425.

Bro bench(pause) 175lbs and dead 225.

I would like to set a goal for what I wanna do at the meet but everything is unpredictable I say this b/c if I get a shirt I dunno how i'm going to do in it and when I get my deadlift suit I don't know how much that is really gonna help.
 
Set yoiur goals at a 300 bench and a 500 dead. They are both extremely possible in 4 months with smart training and good food. You have a 260 bench and a 435 440 deadlift in you if you get them right so its not that much of a jump. If you work on moving your grip out on speed days for now and in a month or so try some of your max work with it thta will help as well. For Deads goodmornigs and low box squats thats it. only do a deadlift off a two inch platform and only once in the next 6-8 weeks. You do not need to work on them directly , trust me.

I have not seen Cubanito lift in person, but a lot of the Florida crew saw him at St. Pete and reported that his comp bench grip is very very narrow, so Grimmer might be suggesting he move his hands out to get more comfortable with a good wide comp grip.

OK..that makes sense...I knew there had to be something there. That is not advice you would NORMALLY hear.
 
Yup , i suggest that to him because he uses only a thumb grip away from the smooth in comp this last time because he has never used aything wider. His long arms make bench hard for him regardless and if he works on bringing his grip out at least to the rings i think he will benefit. But he still needs to adjust to it.
 
I agree, not what you usually hear, but for Cubanito, I think it would be a good idea. I brought all my bar work in this last training cycle, but I feel like I lost something in my comp grip pressing by not doing any wide work. I am going to do a lot more wide grip pressing and focus more on boards and lockouts this cycle and see how that works out. I got to within an inch or two of lockout on all three attempts, and had my best effort in an act of desperation when I moved my grip in from my usual comp grip which is index on the rings, to pinky finger on the rings. I used to be better the wider I got, but like I said, I cut out all wide work, and went narrow on everything for the last 8 weeks.

I guess it is just a continuing experiment, try something and see what works for you.

YEA GRIMM aigh well I know i should set goals that seem reasonable but 4 months that's 140lbs to go up on deads meaning 35lbs a month I thought that was a decent goal since I'm good at them and I seem to go up QUICK on them, but OK I'll set of 5 bills. What other low back work can I do that's good besides good mornings??????

And yes my whole comp bench is a fuckin tricep press b/c of my grip. The thing is when I go wider i'm weaker so I have to work at it. Let's put it this way I tried doing a pause wide grip and with the biggest struggle of my life with my hands on the outside power rings I barely got 205lbs and with my hands 1 inch away from the smooth I can get 260lbs. I know it's a big difference so that's why I stick narrow. And I know what this means I have stronger tris then I think and all I have to do is work on widenin up and BAMMMM 50lbs on my bench right guys(meanin this is a big weakness for me) well that's what I'm gonna work on DE days 5 out 8 times benching will be wide and all ME work and extra workouts are gonna start getting wider. IDEA: Maybe this is why i'm good at DB ELBOW OUTS b/c I have stronger tris then i know and since i bench narrow that's why.
 
Where do you get 135 lbs from. Yoiu pull a 430 dead. Pullinga 500 would mean a 70 lb increase in 4 months. Thats like 18lbs a moonth and with your squat dead suit it will be even esier. If your talking about breaking the APF record of 550 then you have got some serious work to do , then set it at that. Don't forget your ABS. Yoiu know they are the weak link so train them like it. Put them ahead of all other accesory movements. Pulldowns and straight leg and spread eagle situps and hanging raises should be done. do puldowns on the first day , dit ups second day , leg raises third in the week then start over. Low bpx squats are also great for deads. Since you don't have pullthroughs anymore i guess hyperextentons are beter than nothin, but keep doing the plate slides. HIps are a big part in deads.

I know i might get flamed for this but what if I did like pulldowns monday, sit ups wednesday, and leg raises friday, and then for tue and thur I did some type of recovery for them like that machine they show on TV abtronic or some shit. I know my cousin has one that he doesn't use anymore b/c he gave up on it. Would that thing work as a recovery??????It has different levels like for strength, or cutting(don't need that one) or burn fat(everyone could use that) or i think there ight be a recovery one on there.

ZZ what have you used this thing or own one????? What are u talkin about scars and burns???? MY cousin uses it and when he used it for 2 weeks he never got anything like that from it.
 
It's what studies have shown.

And it sure as hell doesn't work; that wouldn't make any sense. How it burns fat is also beyond me.
