I am Going To Try to Change A Law - Any Ideas for Help

First, no one is being "negative", second, loud pipes are annoying,

Really? Annoying? You mean like telling people they are going to be mods for fun annoying? Oh I understand now.

rev your pipes too long around me and I will beat the piss out of you and send the bike over a cliff with the gay leather attached,

kinda of like the boy that cried wolf to many times no one takes them seriously any more?

third, loud pipes don't save lives, proper driving does. peace

Dude you have no idea how many times me reving my pipe to keep so dumb ass from running to me now do you?

You have to design a study to support your claims, this will cost at minimum a couple 100 k to do it properly.

I'll play Devil's Advocate.

Loud pipes on motorcycles are disruptive to motorists. When a motorist hears loud revving sounds, he is likely to look in the direction of the sound. While the sound may be a rider alerting a driver of his presence, this is not always the case. The driver who looks over to investigate the noise will unnecessarily take his attention off of the road, possibly causing an accident. Additionally, like loud radios in cars (which are also illegal, but are unfortunately not enforced strictly) are annoying and distract drivers as well.

Could lives be saved from accidents? Possibly... but lives could also be saved by outlawing cars all together, but the consequences of that would be great. So... would the number of lives or amount of damage spared by having loud motorcycle pipes exceed the number of lives or amount of damage spared by having quiet pipes that no one will look over to?

Unless you can support that with some kind of evidence, you'll get assrammed. Remember - logic is not important in a court of law. If it were, taxes wouldn't be so high and personal drug use on private property would be legal.

I suggest going to Washington DC and burning yourself alive outside the Capitol building.

Don't forget to tell people you are pissed off at that whole muffler thing first though.

lol!!!

I think you'd have a much better chance of getting a law passed requiring the cycle manufacturers to install a HUGE blinking light on the front and rear of each cycle.....

Obviously solves the safety issue of not being to see the bike, AND is quiet!

1. I don´t think anyone but you really cares about that topic.

2. You would need a lot of money for a campaign.

3. Too many people don´t like loud motorbikes.

This is your first mistake never play the devils advocatate because the devil is destined to lose.

I disagree. Diesels are louder than bikes any day and they are on the road and they are not causing wrecks.

Additionally, like loud radios in cars (which are also illegal, but are unfortunately not enforced strictly) are annoying and distract drivers as well.

This is another fallacy of the law.

Could lives be saved from accidents? Possibly...[

So you agree. Thanks.

but lives could also be saved by outlawing cars all together, but the consequences of that would be great. So... would the number of lives or amount of damage spared by having loud motorcycle pipes exceed the number of lives or amount of damage spared by having quiet pipes that no one will look over to?

But you see that is the problem without the loud pipes the motorists will not look to see where the bike is therefore killing more motorcyclist which are less harmful to the enviroment and road than cars any day. If anything they should make cars illegal and only motorcycles should be allowed on the road.

Unless you can support that with some kind of evidence, you'll get assrammed. Remember - logic is not important in a court of law. If it were, taxes wouldn't be so high and personal drug use on private property would be legal.

I don't understand why is evidence important if logic is not?
