Humalog or Humilin r

Please, this is my first time about to try insulin and I know the basic difference is solely on time release but which would you recommend and why. Is it really that much of a difference? I know Humalog is the fastest and I have access to both as well as actrapid. I have Humalog and actrapid is arriving tomorrow.

anabolic diabetic and ironmaster would be able to help you out but from what i gathered from both of them humalog is the one to go with since its faster acting and easier to control

Humalog would be best because it is generally more predictable. It will hit you fast and then be out of your system. Regular will be hanging around for four hours and up to six in my experience. This will increase your chances of random low blood sugar. Go with the Humalog and just be sure to eat immediately after you take it and consume some more even calories throughout the next two hours of it duration- AD

Thanks guys. AnabolicDiabetic, do you know where I can get some info on the Lilly Humalog pens. Mine came without instructions or pins and im told they need special pins.

I'm not sure about a specific website but I'd suggest looking at some of the sites geared totally toward diabetics- they are easy to find on yahoo etc. Also, did you try Lilly's website? I have no personal experience with the pens so I really don't know much about them or where exactly to find the info. I'll take a look if you come up with nothing though- AD

call the pharamacy and tell them that when you bought your pens that the instructions were missing...they will tell you to come in and they will give you one! Worked for me!! I did not even buy my slin at that pharamcy!

in your opinion of course what would be a safe way to cycle slin in a 12 week gh/test/primo cylce?

Well, i'd say that you could pretty safely start out with a bit higher dose than you normally might because of the insulin resistance that GH and others will cause. You could pretty safely start out with 10 units and then go up by 1 unit increments until you feel like you've reached your limit. Just make sure you eat tons of carbs the first dose if you start that high. I'd taper off on the fourth week to nothing unless you need it for the whole cycle.

I can't really say because with all GH and other stuff you might actually need the slin. Bottom line- if the extra slin helps your body catch up in slin production rather than hindering your natural production of slin, the 12 weeks wouldn't be a problem.
