HRT and Hair Loss

Has anyone who is on a hormone replacement program and receiving testosterone (either creams or injections) experienced hair loss problems? My hair line has been receeding for the last ten years but I do not want to speed the process up.

I'm doing a complete program.

It speeded mine up. I have male pattern and the higher my test levels, the more remaining fuzz I loose.

I believe this "pattern" curse is genetic. My Father and Uncles all had it. The good news is they all lived a long, long time ... sired many children.

I gave up and just get very short haircuts... 3 1/2 setting on the clippers. No pills or minox ... I don't want the side effects.

Any androgen will speed up the MPB process in those who are genetically predisposed. Try finasteride (Proscar or Propecia) or dutasteride (Avodart) for some extra protection while using testosterone, but please note such DHT inhibitors will not prevent or slow down MPB with use of synthetics (i.e., Anavar, Winstrol, Anadrol).

Best of luck.

I have been using Rogaine for many years. Seems to be helping. Slowing it at least. Actually started using it while it was still prescription.

Yeah, I started using Rogaine at least 10 yrs. ago, while still a prescription. I was paying over 40 bucks, when the patent ran out I have been getting it for 10 bucks a month, sometimes I find the 3 packs on sale for 10 bucks and buy about 3 or 4 of them. While I have never met or talked to anyone it actually grew hair for, it does however slow or even stop in my case hair falling out.
