1iu is great to start. Plan for at least 6-8 months. If all is good with 1iu then you can raise it to 2iu daily but no need to go any higher. Keep an eye on your resting glucose levels via bloodwork.
Make sure you use growth hormone and you stick with it. A lot of people make the mistake of not using it long enough. I would start with two IU's per day.
