I am going to insist that hubby & I go to marriage counseling as we are unable to resolve our issues together....... There are a lot of hurt feelings on my part & I'm tired of pretending things don't bother me to save the peace.

Anyway, any tips on picking a decent counselor?? I'm sure our insurance company will give us a list to choose from. I guess we need to go once or twice to "check the fit" first?? I'm at a loss.....<<<sigh>>>

You're so much like me.

Yes, your insurance company can give you a list of therapists but not sure about recommendations.

Do you have a medical doctor you could ask?
For like a recommendation?

Good Luck sweets.

No, not really -- about the dr. recommendation..... Maybe I'll just see how many they give me as far as "in network." Thanks....

Good Luck Jen
I hope everything works out for u

do you have any friends who could recommend any good ones?
or do you have to go through an insurance company?

hope all gets fixed up soon...

Well, I'd rather the counselor bill insurance themselves rather than me having to do it & wait for reimbursement..... I may have to do it that way tho....

No, several of my friends aren't married so they wouldn't know...

I don't know if you have a church but they'll often have referrals to therapists they've sent couples to in the past (or have been to themselves). We went through some counselling to sort some things out before the wedding and it really helped. He's been somewhat aprehensive about it before going but we both got a lot out of it and now we fight more fair and things are just better in general.

I also agree with Velvett about asking your dr. Or would you be able to look through a book from your insurance company to see which places they cover?

Maybe your church? If you are religious at all? I know it would be free that way. But other then that. I guess you would just have to check around. Hope you find a good one. I think it's healthy to see a marriage councillor. Good luck with everything!
