We may be talking about two different machines.
The maximum weight on that machine in my health club (Balleys) is 395 pounds, and I add extra 15 pounds bars to make it 405. Very few people in my health club do the same weights on that machine.
Surprisingly (or not?), my calves are the best part of my body. Genes!!!!!
I also have well developed adductors of thighs. The machine goes up to 190 pounds and I make it 205 by adding 15 pounds, and even that is becoming too easy. Abductors are still two notches away from max weight on machine.
I am sure a large number of people here have much better legs strength, but I am satisfied.
I wish I could do the same with my uppder body.... Damn...
those leg press machines are for pansy lifters. I could max the stack at 395 on those tings when I was 15 years old.
Why not use the machines where you can add plates. You'd be surprisd how much weigh tyou can acutally stack on them and move.
500 pounds feels heavy to me, but I can rep another 400 pounds. Your legs are surprisingly powerful on a leg press.
