I am 5'4, 120 pounds, 23 years old, and female. I've been weightlifting for years, and have a fair amount of muscle. I lift weights 3-4 times a week very intensley, and do very intense interval cardio walking and running uphills for an hour 4-5 times a week. I ate very little in the past few months- 11-1200 calories, and wasn't really improving all that much.I was constantly hungry and tired. I increased my calories to 15-1600 calories a day, and I feel like I'm a little leaner, but still constantly starving, and lack energy. I eat plenty of protein ,veggies and EFAs and oatmeal, and drink piles of water and take psyllium for fiber and I get 9 hours of sleep a night. I'm wondering if I need to eat more, or if I'm eating too much already. Seems like a lot of calories compared to everyone elses. I would like to maintain and possibly grow more muscles while keeping fat to a minimum. How much should you eat with this activity level without gaining weight?? I'm still so hungry...
