The last gym I went to charged $250 per year. I went there after NYSC where I was bent over for $44 a month plus the initiation fee( it added up to nearly $600 a year). The gym I'm looking at now is $249 a year.

My gym is free to all University of Florida students. Although I guess it comes out of the tuition but the state pays tuition if you have good enough grades.

I workout at lifetime fitness in IL, USA. I wouldnt call it a GYM, more of like a Health Club. Being a single member, the butt raped me for a 220 dollar inititation fee, then it is 49 bucks a month. The nice thing is its 24 hrs (like most Gold's). Its brand new, you never have to wait for any cardio equipment, there has to be over 30 tvs near the cardio equip with fm stations to listen to each channel. The 3x olympic size pool is also open 24 hrs with two (i'd say 15x15 size jaccuzzi's) indoor and outdoor waterpark, rock climbing wall, 4 aerobics rooms, leather couches in the locker room with a sony 40 inch flatscreen with sports on 24/7. There's a massage parlor and hair salon in it as well. Also 24 hr basketball courts, about 10-12 raquestball courts. Sorry to embelish but if I am going to pay 808 a year it better be good.
