I'm trying to shed a bit of fat that I have. I'm going to start a low carb diet this Monday and gradually every week I'll drop the carbs down more and more as the weeks go by. I need to wake up at 4:20am to be at the gym at 5am. Do you guys think that taking in 25grams of complex carbs before my workout is OK? Will this be sufficient for lifting? I'll also be taking ripped juice to give me a boost. And what about after the gym? Should I take 25grams of complex carbs or 25grams of fructose (banana)?

For my contest diet, I limited my carb intake to 1 gram per pound of bodyweight, spread out over my first three meals of the day. I trainde in the morning, but if I was FORCED to train in the afternoon, my carbs were in two early meals and a post-workout meal. However, itried to train forst thing on an empty stomach. For me, this worked better for fat-burning...I would save those carbs for post-workout recovery.

My other meals were protein and veggies or whey and flax oil.

It worked great for me, but everybody is different.

Should I take 25grams of complex carbs or 25grams of fructose (banana)? fructose get stored in the liver usually, so it's not a way to go post-workout; stick to 30g dextrose 30-40g protein, whey, post-workout. www.proteinfactory.com

See I was thinking about taking in 50 grams of whey protein after my workout along with the banana. Why the banana? Because of the potassium and to raise insulin levels quick. Don't I need to raise insulin levels quick after a workout? And about taking 25grams of complex carbs 40 minutes before my workout. Wouldn't I need some quick sugar at this time also give me energy quick???

Where did you hear bananas raise insulin levels????? As well,, fructose (bananas) does nothing to replinish muscle glycogen, so a banana is about as good as a hole in the head at this time, it's pointless!

Quick sugar before your workout is NOT a good idea.......u get a rise in slin as well which will make you TIRED AS SHIT for your workout. U don't get energy from sugar, well, not lasting energy........10 mins and you'll be fried!!!

I know what RJ is, but I was wonder why would you pay $60 when there was a whole fiasco about it being underdosed

See I was thinking about taking in 50 grams of whey protein after my workout along with the banana. Why the banana? Because of the potassium and to raise insulin levels quick. postassium doesn't raise insulin levels Don't I need to raise insulin levels quick after a workout?not w/ a banana And about taking 25grams of complex carbs 40 minutes before my workout. Wouldn't I need some quick sugar at this time also give me energy quick??? 40min should be enough to digest some carbs, and if you stick w/ maltodextrin close to the workout you should be fine. Look at my post workout recommendations, I put in dextrose post workout which is a high-gi carb which would allow for an insulin spike

$60 for Ripped Juice?! Holy S**T!!! I only pay $30 for it. So Ripped Juice is crap? Is it really underdosed? What would you recommend then?

$30 is probably not bad, would say the best but not bad that's for sure. You can make your own "ripped juice"

go to: www.beyond-a-century.com
get: ephedrine, ala, white kidney bean extract, 5htp, caffeine and green tea extract and vit b complex; this will be cost effective and will work great

Thanks Mr.X, but I rather buy then make my own. Do you suggest something else besides Ripped Juice that would be better?
