How much can you make being a personal trainer?

I posted this over at AR.com and trying to get as much feed back as possible. I'm tired of bartending, I make good money but work every damn weekend! This is supposed to be the time of the week when we get excited to do as we please whether it be go out, go on a trip, or just relax at home- and I'm always stuck at work and not able to hang out or plan anything cause this is the time we make our money. People are always asking me why don't I personal train, I guess it's cause I never thought I'd make as much money as I do know. Can anyone throw out some #'s as to what to expect hourly wage. I know that it depends on your clientel and your club, but just give me an average. Thanks

Well Joe (lol) I plan to start training people this summer. If you work at a gym as an employee you'll get employee wages. If you go on your own you can make decent bread (25-50/hr to start). Of course I know it will take time to build a clientelle and learn the ropes of the business. I am starting part time and keeping my day job in the beginning.

If you are a pro bb'er who also trains people and live in a major city, you can make 6 figures easily

I know a couple pros that train and you're right. They both make serious cash, and that's excluding their gear profit

Hmmmm...well...depends strictly on YOU.
