how many times can u bench 225??

I have done it 21 times.. my triceps just kinda gave out too. I am 6'2 200 btw. I know willis mcgahee just did it 25 times and most nfl players do in the 20s so i would assume i am doing pretty well for being a natty.
 
YEAH, I NVR BELIEVED IN THAT "CALCULATE YOUR MAX" BULLSHIT AFTER REPPING OUT WITH A CERTAIN WEIGHT. COMPLETE AND UTTER BULLSHIT.

IT MAY GIVE YOU A ROUND ABOUT FIGURE BUT THATS ABOUT IT.

I have a record of this actually.......

August 1997-24 reps (age 18)

August 1998- 29 reps

August 1999- 33 reps

August 2000- 30 reps

Don't know what it is now, I don't train the bench for endurance, since I have no reason to, but I might, this post brought back fun memories.
 
i like how more than half of the answers are bogus... this board is really getting lame. It was a serious question.
 
And there are serious answers among the posts, go to any big time college weight room and you will see, a lot of these answers are not hard to believe, just cause some people out-do you does not mean their answers are bogus, it means you could stand to learn something from them.

WHat does everyone do to improve your 225 for reps??, I remember in the days when I was tested on it, on my light days when bench was trained I would do 3 sets of 225 all with the same reps and I would add a rep to each set every week, I never did em to total failure cause it was a light day of course, then 2 weeks before being tested I would do a rep test with 265, followed immediately by 225 to failure , then a week before I'd do 245 for a rep test followed immediately with 225 to failure, at testing, we'd get teste on a 1 RM first, so 225 to failure felt like the bar after that, and all the conditioning work in previous weeks helped, I always thouht it was key to train for a conditioning test when you're tired, then when you do it fresh it will be that much easier.....
 
Why? Cause I remember some nfl fuck braggin about it on some tv or magazine commercial and I wanted to show the world I could do it to. To bad I can't run as fast.
 
Last time I did 225 to failure it was about 16 reps, so maybe 18 now?:confused:

I gots a weak bench for being 240+lbs. Damn shoulder joints. One disclocated(trampoline/drunk, nuff said). The other one doing a 5 rep. :bawling:

25-35 is pretty standard at the NFL combine among elite players.

Ronnie Coleman said he did like 75 reps once.

I've never tried to take it over 12-15 reps but probably could have (not now though).
 
Ever watch those NFL asses do it? They bounce like you wouldnt believe. Dont lower it either, it just drops half the time.
 
How lame is this, I went to the gym today and did bench to find out... 21 times.

Yeah, but did you see him doing it? He was bouncing it off of his chest like a spring board. I'm 5'9" and weigh about 195lbs. My best was about two weeks ago when I got 225 for 21 reps with good form. I gauge my strength with 225lbs most of the time because I've had two reconstructive shoulder surgeries which kind of makes it more difficult to go much over 315lbs.

when Im sauced to the hilt 50 reps is my best!!!!! I was working out with the linebacker of the tennessee titans, and I was natural, repped it 40 times for him!!!!

at my current bodyweight of 215 i used 225 for 5x5 with a 2 second rest pause today.... maybe next week i will just rep out and see how many i can get without a pause... let me tell you one thing thoiugh with tht damn pause i felt like a little girl.

Really? When I saw the linebacker/lineman challenge on espn most then were hitting 15 - 18 at 250.

World's top powerlifters in the 180 lb. division can bench nearly 600 pounds now. I think one surpassed 600. That is beyond freakish strength. I wonder how much all that crap that they wear(bench shirts, wraps, etc.) contributes to how much they can lift.

i'm not sure if coleman can bench 2.5-3.0 times his body weight but his heart hasn't exploded yet. who knows, maybe it never will, so i care just like the people who care how many times they can bench 225lbs.

What have your numbers got to do with it? 400 is nothing special. When you hit 500 with tight form you can start shouting about it.

Just because your tiny little mind can not envisage doing 2.5 - 3 times your bodyweight whilst clean doesnt mean it can not be done.

I'm about 5'10 and 195 and my max is about 400. I think thats pretty damn good. Duritz good for you I know how much work it takes to get there without a gram of test a week. Props.

My Camera is in storage but since apparently it's impossible for anyone to rep more than you I will go dig it out, Thursday is Chest day - I'll try to get it for you by then - The only problem I have is that Cameras aren't allowed at 24 hour so if it's crowded I have to wait until no one is going to notice my partner recording me.

By the way - Why did you choose to "call me out" when there are people on this thread who said they've hit 40 and 50?

I top out around 440 at the moment........but I consider that to be far from what I can achieve. That is 440 paused with even lockout yadda yadda yadda.

Let me point something out for you........400 is not immense in the raw and natural powerlifting world. It is a good lift......I would be stupid to deny that.......but it is far from immense. You can go to regional powerliftig meets and people blow up that weight like it is nothing.

I don't post on the training board, I post on the Anabolic Board and Chat, Therefore I would not have any contributions to the training board as I do not read it. Also, I don't "Talk the Talk", a question was posed, I answered what I think I can do - just like everyone else in this thread. I didn't start a post saying "HEY GUYS I CAN BENCH 225 A BUNCH OF TIMES!!! LOOK AT ME, I'M SO AWESOME!!!"

If I were going to brag about something it would be a single rep max, I could care less how many times I can put up a small weight.

Hmm... 225 for reps? That's interesting, I have never tried... I would imagine, if I had my tris behind me and my chest was rested, I could probably hit 15? I really haven't tried... I know I can do 10-12 in a workout...

But... honestly... I'm so pissed off today, I should go into the gym and just try and hit some off...
