How many of you have a pet that lives inside your home?

I knew you were a crazy cat lady!!!Im kidding MM :)

I'm confused with several of you that have multiple animals, I though most states had a 3 or 4dog/cat/animal maximum, do you have them unlicensed or how do you go about having so many?
Six cats is nothing. There was a time my ex and I had: 3 dogs, 8 cats, 30+ ferrets, 12+ fancy rats, 10+ fancy mice, 6+ dwarf hamsters, a dormouse and a hedgehog.

Everything except the cats and dogs lived in tanks or cages so it wasn't quite the zoo it sounds.

Animal zoning ordinances are township specific. In my township there is no limit to how many animals you can have as long as the property is sanitary and the animals are properly cared for.

Hardly. Most of the animals wouldn't have been acquired in the first place if it weren't for my ex. He was very much of the "some good, more better mentality."

As for the cats, I used to have 7, one died more than a year ago. I won't be getting any more. And really, it seems like less, they don't like each other very much, and a couple are pathologically afraid of strangers. It's actually rare to have more than three in a room together at once.

musclymommy do you think a cat get's cold as fuk in temps between 25-low 30s?
and does a electric blanket provide enough relief?

Getting past denial is the first part of beginning the healing process.

Now that 7th cat that died, did you put him in the freezer? This kind of thing happens. If so throw him away.

Whatever. Six cats are still a fuckload less work and less demanding than even ONE good sized dog.

I didn't set out to acquire six cats, it just happened (one was my late mother's, one was my son's, two were semiferal, and the rest came from the SPCA).

As for the one that died, she was buried under the peach tree in the back yard the night she died. Tree really perked up the next spring. I can't imagine stuffing a dead pet into the freezer. I'd pitch the fucking thing in the garbage first.
