Find out what, or if, the gym you would be training at requires. Most of the exams are incredibly simple.

In my opinion, the only ones worth slightlly more than the paper they are printed on are the CSCS from the NSCA and the more advanced ones from the ACSM. Your average gym goer will not know the difference between the ACE certification and the ACSM fellowship.
