How low can you go??? BF%

I was wondering I am dieting right now for a vacation. I am 27 yoa 6 feet 208 pounds and natty. Right now I am at about 10% BF or so but I am not where I want to be, I want to have about 7% by March 15th.


My question is when does having low BF affect your health?

Will my natural hormones drop when I am below 10%?

Will I lose my sex drive?

Will my hair and skin be affected?

My training and diet are right on and I am dropping weight but I want to makes sure I will not get any problems from this diet

Essential BF for men is estimated at about 3%.

that is basically the fat inside your cells, etc., you cannot get rid of that.

There are natural BBers who go down to 3.7% for a brief period. Keeping your body at this low, for an extended period might not be the best of ideas, AND it will be HARD as hell. Going this low you will definitely notice changes in your skin, etc.

There are other BBers who stay year-round (think fashion models) at about 7-8%, which seems to be a reasonable number to avoid health issues.

Sex drive, hair and skin were cool with me at 7%(while cycling). Don't expect to still lift heavy and train till failure all the time though.
 
When I was sub 6%, I had the shakes pretty bad...also, my test was off the charts (drowning) yet I felt fat often because I'd bloat with the simpiest of meals...now I'm around 9 and starting to feel normal again......starting...........

Jkurz1, not to sound mean or anything, but feeling fat at sub 6% is a mental condition that reminds me of anorexia...

I guess that with BBers is never Big enough or lean enough, one basically need to accept when enough is enough.

That and offering free Accounting advice makes you a case study among CPAs... ;)

was that a backwards slam? :evil:

Of course I have a disease........i'm very outspoken about it........when I was 240 I wasnt big enough...now I'm diced and I can't get off the cardio

Am I anorexic? Hell no........I eat and I eat a lot.....prob. why I do so much cardio.......

As for the acctg. advice? you would cry if you saw how many bros pm me for advice..........so, whats the problem?
 
Man I wish there was somebody around giving free advice on German Taxes... :worried:

As for the disease thing, I can only hope that by the time people get to 10% BF there is no turning back!!! Only way is to ride with it
 
The lowest Ive been was about 7%..I was trying to maintain my mass so I being cautious about going lower. I want to venture towards 6% and under this summer. I have learned a great deal about my body this past year.

Your sex drive decreases the lower you get, thats also cause you would rather eat a cheeseburger and ice cream then bang.
