how long is your bulking phase?

I'm already thinking ahead about putting on some muscle starting after this show on Sat.
How long does it take to make some muscle gains w/clean diet in check. I know everyone is diff. but time frame I would think would be a good 6 months at least don't you think?? I know I'll need to back off all the cardio classes I teach to maintain any muscle but thought I'd throw the question out there.

I think that time frame may be usually around 3 - 4 months.... of course, the longer you bulk the bigger you get. With a good diet you should be starting to see some size at the end of one month.
In bulk, your training style as well as your diet change, giving your muscles enough recovery time... different priorities on exercises.
Regarding the cardio... maybe it is not about dropping off the classes, but combining them in such a way that you don't lose muscle.
Your diet should give enough nutrients for you to support the amount of exercise and make you grow.
In my case, while bulking I do cardio but not on the leg training day.... I tried it before with cardio on leg day, but my legs never grow not even a mm! On the other days, I just reduce the amount of cardio.

thanx, Sassy-youdon't change up your reps and amount of weight lifting?

I've read the 5X5's of 80-90% max is a good building program,

My bulking phase was 25 years in the making. LOL

I spent the better part of this winter putting on more lean mass. It was part diet and part lifting. I trained similar to a powerlifter. 3 days a week of very heavy lifting always at least one day of rest in between lifting.

Its mostly diet because that will determine what you can do in the gym. But yes obviously part lifting.
