How long is cooked chicken good for in the fridge?

i'd almost certainly eat it, even though i wonder every time. i'd use the sell by date on the package it came in. maybe 1-2 days after that date, but i don't have anything to back that up.

It doesn't smell bad, and the color is hard to tell because it has seasoning on it. Fuck, it's two chicken breasts, can't let them go to waste. I'm going for it.

They will be good 7-10 days provided they are stored properly (ie not on the front seat of your car)....

The smell test will tell the truth

Also, microwave it. That will kill any bad bacteria.

But it won't help with the toxic byproducts of the bacteria's metabolism....

Lunch meats, sealed in package 2 weeks
Lunch meats, after opening 3-5 days
Pieces covered with broth or gravy 1-2 days
Rotisserie chicken 3-4 days

I left some chicken breasts in the back of the fridge for an entire semester once and then I opened the rubbermaid dealies they were in.

I was knocked back by the smell. Upon first glance, they looked normal. I grabbed a fork and rolled one over and the underside was all green and fuzzy.

I laughed and offered a roommate $5 to eat it. He refused, and I threw the chicken out the window.
