How long does it take to see results?

ive been working out hard for over 3 months now, and i feel like im not seeing enough results for the amount of time im putting in at the gym. I started weighing 155 and im now up to 165, but my bf has gone up too. Im just wondering how long it will take before i see noticable results? Does it take longer than i think and im just in a rush to get there?

There are lots of variables...

1) What's your diet like?
2) What kind of training are you doing?
3) How old are you?
4) What are your goals? Size? Strength?

What is your workout schedule, cause i overtrained for like 5 months when i first started liftin and saw like 5 lbs of gains, and i didnt eat right. Now i have a set diet, low in fat, and i dont overtrain anymore, and in 3 months i have gained 17 lbs of lean mass, and my strength has gone way up....

im 17 years old, and my current diet is something along the lines of this:
Breakfast - 5 whole eags and some oatmeal and oJ (i always have this)
Lunch - 1/2 pound turkey breast or roast beef, Cottage double, some nuts
More cottage cheese before workout
Currently, I am training one body a day:
Arms and shoulder mon; legs tues;off weds; back thurs; chest friday
Protein shake when i come home
High protein dinner and another shake b4 bed
My goals are mainly size, although strenght is always a benefit :)
A special note to spatts: Thanks for all your advice, i think u have responded to every post that i have made. Your very knowledgable and i really appreciate you takign the time to help out a newbie like me!

Get some carbs...you're a growin boy! Are you playing any sports in addition to this?

What do you do when you train? Sets? Reps? How long are you sore, and which muscles are sore longest/shortest?

Cardio?

Im a newbie too, and these guys will prolly clarify everything for you, but you should try doin 2 parts a day, and workin 3 days a week. Mine is
Mon-Chest/triceps
Wed-Back/Biceps
Fri-legs/shoulders

and i take both weekend days off, its worked for me....But you should do what you see the most benefits from, and if something doesnt work, change it....... Try goin to IntenseWorkout.com there are some workout splits in there and some other advice for newbies...........

when i train i usually do 3 sets/ about 8-10 reps. My shoulders never get sore, legs are sore for a good 4 days. Back is usually sore for 2, chest for 3 if i get a good pump. bis and tris are equal, soreness starts fading at end of second day.

Im not playing any sports or doing cardio because i am trying to gain as mmuch mass as possible,,, but i dont wanna get fat.

it seems 90% of the time.......the answer to these types of questions is, "you're not eating enough"
