How long do you guys spend training legs???

On a heavy leg day how long does it take you? Maybe I'm just a perfectionist and I don't feel like I'm doing enough, so I keep doing more and more. I always try to get 5 sets in on each exercise, 6-8 reps as heavy as I can go. I always warm up first and stretch, then:

Squats or hack squats: 4 or 5 sets 6-8 reps
Leg Press: 4 or 5 sets 6-8 reps
leg curls: 5 sets 6-8 reps
standing calf raises: 5 sets 10 reps
seated calf raises: 5 sets 10 reps

it always takes me about 90 minutes to complete my workout. I've tried taking less time inbetween sets, but I'm not recovered from the previous set. Any suggestions?

I don't feel like I've had a good enough workout if my legs aren't weak and I'm not limping out of the gym.

I just do squats, leg press and calf work, takes about 45-60 minutes, once a week.

OK, I TRAIN LEGS ONCE A WEEK.
START W/HAMS 6 SETS
SQUATS 3-4 WARM UPS 3 SETS
LEG EXT. 3-4 SETS
USUALLY ABOUT 1 HOUR, IF WE ARE LAZY A LITTLE LONGER.

I VARY IN REPS, BUT READ THAT HIGHER REPS WILL CAUSE YOU TO GET BIGGER. 12-15 REPS WITH AS HEAVY AS YOU CAN.
JUST MY OPINION.

4 sets hack squats 8 reps
3 sets leg presses 8 reps
3 sets leg extensions 8 reps
3 sets leg curls 8 reps
calf work

I might throw in some abductor and adductor work cuz i want more width in the legs.

Here's my leg workout:

Quads: Squats, Leg press, Leg Extentions
Hamstrings: Stiff-Leg deadlift, Leg Curls, Hammer Strength Leg Curls
Calves: Standing raises, Seated Raises, Raises on the Leg press Machine

I do quads on a day by themselves and I do Hamstrings with Chest. Calves I do every third day.

Quad workout usually takes 45 minutes

I do squats, leg presses, calf lifts thats it. I still feel it 3 days after leg day so I think I am doing some good work (legs are one of my better parts) I do 3 sets of each and 6-8 reps per sets as heavy as possable while keeping good form

Maybe I just need to lighten the load a little, as far as number if exercises. I can lessen the number of sets per exercise to 3 sets.

I guess I was going by the Lee Priest theory of 20 sets per body part. But he's a lot more advanced and has worked up to that regimen. I guess lowering the number of sets and exercises would allow me to go a little heavier than normal because I'm not expending so much energy on other exercises.

Anyone believe the Lee Hany and Arnold theroy of working calves up to 6 times a week? I've increased my calves to 2 times a week and noticed a dramatic difference.

OK Here is my formula for getting 28 inch legs in a matter of 3 months while off cycle!

Workout time: ~30min
Warm up: Leg extensions supersetted with Leg Curls 5 x 15

Now for the workout:
Squats: Full range of motion. (Deep Squats)

135lbs 1 set of 20. Moderate speed. (rest and sretch)

185lbs 1 set of 15.

225lbs 1 set of 20 or till failure. Perform this set
Using the rest pause method to force
more reps after failure.

That last set will be so intese that i would start to get tunnel vision and light headed. When done i would just stagger out of the gym into my car. After a few weeks i would use Full range of motion with 315. By that point my legs were huge. Pumper they were over 29 inches.

I always had troule getting my legs to grow. My squat would never get any higher than 265 for 4. Legs were puny even when cycling. So i started doing this routine out of laziness because i had written my legs off as a lost cause and i figured, "hell i will just devote a half hour to them and 1 work set". Well guess what, i stumbled onto something there as my legs blew up, and my strenght went throug the roof. So basically it was the HIT routine. I did not even know i was using it. But boy it worked Big time. I was literally making strenght improvements EVERY workout, and this was a month POST CYCLE, no clomid, no hcg, nothing just tapered down.

i train quads by themselves: 3 sets leg extension to warm up, 5 sets squats in smith machine, 4 sets leg presses legs respond to higher reps in my case 10-15 reps for most sets... two-three days later hams (along with another small bodypart) 4 sets leg curls doing 1 and a halfs-1 rep go 1/2 way back then back up again thats one repthey work next stiff legs or good mornings u have a choice 3 work sets after warm up and occasionally leg presses with your feet high only your heels on the plate reps a little lower than with quads 6-12. this split works trust me i had no legs until i switched to a split with legs

Thats exactly how I feel mustang. My legs have always grown well and after a typical leg day I am whiped out completely and feel it for days.

I trained legs first thing this morning. Took me about an hour and 15 minutes. Started with very light leg extensions to warm up.

4 sets of hack squats
5 sets of leg presses
5 sets of leg extensions
4 sets of standing hamstring curls
4 sets of stiff leg deadlifts
Usually sore for about 3 or 4 days :)

I train calves twice a week on different days from legs.

hour to an hour and a half. I really like to tackle all the machines on leg day and hit every leg muscle. If I'm not having trouble walking the next day then I didn't have a good workout.

Legs take the longest for me... about an hour.

4 sets laying down hammy curls
4 sets standing iso hammy curls
4 sets hecsquat
4 sets leg press
4 sets leg extensions...

It seems like alot, but it goes by rather quickly.... and for those wondering about my calves, I split them up about 2-3 days a week on other days. My upper legs are shaking too much by the end of my leg workout to stand and do calves. :)

i train quads and hams seperatly. the legs carry to much mass to train all at once in my opinion.

quads: 1hour
4 sets squats in the deep; 4 sets hack; 3 sets leg press
sometimes extensions
then I always train adductors(inside of the leg) my mass went up dramatically since I started this, they appear much thicker

hams: 45mins
6 sets stiff leg deadlifts(pryamided); 4 sets leg curls

I started doing regular deadlifts 1 month ago and since then my squat has gone up 50 lbs. love those deadlifts

anyway just my thoughts

btw how much can u guys deadlift ??

Damn some long times in here but I guess that's why you guys got the big quads.
5sets of squat
18-24 reps
15-18reps
12-15 reps
10-2reps
18-24 reps

three sets of leg extension
12-15reps all nice and slow
three stiff leg deads
10-12 reps
Aboutn40 minutes at most
