How lean is cube steak?

Just wondering if this would fit in the diet of someone trying to lose bodyfat? Just fyi, if anyone cares, I am 185 and 17% and trying to go lower.

Steak 100 grams

Calories 206
Total Fat 6g
Saturated Fat 2g
Sodium 46mg
Carbohydrates 0g
Fibre 0g
Sugar 0g
Protein 35g

Cube steak can be from any cut of beef but, in general, those nutritional figures are what you can expect. It is a good source of protein and provided the rest of your diet is balanced, the fat content is reasonable. It is, however, high in cholesterol.

If you are trying to lose weight, then it is more important to know that the level of energy you are expending through physical activity is greater than the amount of energy you are consuming via your diet. As long as it is, you will continue to lose weight. If you keep your nutritional intake as clean as possible then it will make it much easier for you.

By energy, you mean cals right?

Cals burned>cals taken in

Yes.
The number of calories in a food is a measure of how much potential energy that food will provide for your body.

If you reduce your caloric intake by 500 calories per day (3500 over the span of one week) you will lose one pound (minimum) in bodyweight. Introduce physical activity and the loss can be even more. This reduction should come primarily from carbs. Keep your protein intake high (one gram per pound of lean body mass) and lift heavy to help retain muscle mass while you cut but expect to lose some mass. You may find that you will also have to raise your fat intake to meet your daily caloric requirements as a result of the shortfall in carbs. Just keep it clean.
