I've been giving a lot of thought to subleting my place, and taking the summer to hike the John Miur trail from southern California (spring) thru Oregon /Washington(summer).
Lots of adventure for the price of trail food and a few pairs of good hiking boots.
Oh well, maybe someday...

Why not go from Canada to Mexico? Eric Ryback was the first person to do this, he wrote a book about the trip. Eric covered like 20 miles a day, I doubt he took the time to really enjoy scenic spendor. I'd slow down and do it in two trips.
I was going to do the Colorado continental divide one summer but got helicoptered off of Mt. Evans with some extra bones instead.
A good prep trip is the Appalachian Trail which is frequently covered. The Appalachians hold a lot of beauty.
Nothing like following game trails for days, especailly if it rains for 96 hours straight. EVERYTHING gets wet or very damp in that case. Even the outmeal taste a little soggier and colder.

Thanks for the kind words Tex.........It's becoming increasingly difficult in my experience to find someone. I don't doubt there are still nice girls out there......it's just a bitch trying to find them.

I'm kinda with Vinylgroover on this one. I've not really given up on finding someone, but I am not sure that I'm not opposed to it. lol. I was discussing this with my friend that I went to D.C. with last night on the drive home. He's afraid that he will be married to his work and maybe not the the most dedicated to his marriage. I agree with him. I'm afraid that he will be too married to his work and not his wife. He also said that he wanted the big house to live in. Blah blah blah. Lol. This was brought up by me saying that I'd like to have an apartment whereever I end up working. No house, no white picket fence. Just an apartment for me and a Daschund named Ballpark. I used to have the whole white picket fence thing going on. I got over it. I don't think my sex drive is driving me to find someone. Nothing is actually. I did say that one day, I'd like to have kids, and he suggested adoption if I decide to stay single. I'm not sure what the future holds for me. But it won't be created for me by my sex drive.

Women simply want to retain their independance these days.....they are in good jobs now, can earn a good income......they don't need a guy to 'look' after them.
It just seems to be very clinical these days. I know i come across as a bit of a lark around here most times, but i do have old fashioned values when it comes to marriage and the like
