How do you know you are no longer on a diet...

...but you made the switch to a new lifestyle already???

My revelation came in today.

You see, I am having a week or forced vacation from dieting/working out:

1. I was send by my employeer to be at the CeBIT for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. As a fact, this would be enough to make my day since I get to talk converged networks the whole day with prospective customers... which is nice... but the downfall is that: a. The food sucked big time (you can see that protein is expensive are carbs are cheap, can you spell pasta???) b. I could not work out for 3 days.

2. At our booth, there were no chairs, so I got to talk convergence all of 9 hours/day... WHILE STANDING... needless to say, my lower back is killing me.

So I come back today and realize, after not being able to sleep due to my lower back pain that I won't be able to train, if I want to be reasonable OK for my ski trip this weekend. So I go with my planned diet for Thursday... OK, no big issue.

Tomorrow, Friday, we are leaving at midafternoon, so no training either...

Well, I am right now a MOODY SOB!!! and why? because I have not been able to eat healthy and train... yup. So I realized that those things constitute now the "norm" instead of the exception... While most people get moody while on diet, we get moody when we know we could be shedding fat...

So that was it, I know consider myself a healthy lifestyle person (after 6 months) and if you don't want to mess with me, don't make me eat some high-carb/high-fat shit or make me skip some workouts...

how was it for you? when/how did you realize your old-self was gone?

I realized it was a lifestyle change, when I woke up one morning looking forward to my oats w/ egg whites and blueberries (instead of the packets of Apple Cinnamon instant oatmeal that I use to love so much). When I realized that a tsp. of sugar is too sweet. When the smell of grease in my company cafeteria made me sick. And, finally, when I walked down the aisle of a supermarket that has the factory produced donuts, breads and cake mixes and I can smell the sugar in these products.

man i look forward to that day. I have been on my diet for two week now and have lost 6lbs. It is still really hard to over look all the junk food i use to eat. every morning the guys in the office gets a box of fresh, chewy, and warm doughnuts. that does not make this diet thing easy(NOT THAT IT SHOULD BE) so k for both of you for overcoming an incredibly hard challenge

take it one step at a time... it comes to a point where the benefits (lbs of fast lost) completely anihilate the craving for a little donut or something else...

Once the compliments start flying your way there is no turning back from the Dark Side!!! If only because you won't give those SOBs a reason to say later: "see, he lost the weight... and he gained it all back...and then some"...

This time IS FOR GOOD!!!

I realized how much i changed when i found i got drunk on 4 beers. That was devastating ;) In a way it felt good though, signified a big change from my 'go to the pub every evening' lifestyle i had.
