Good lord, everytime I do a leg day, i'm immobile for at least 5 days, then it's back to leg day, when do you guys get cardio in if you train legs hard? Theres no way I can eke out even a mile right now.

Run? Why the Hell would I run? I don't play football anymore, and there is nothing chasing me, so why run? I don't want to turn into a concentration camp victim. Running turns endogenous testosterone into a deadly coctail of estrogen and progesterone.

i run all the time.. whether it be basketball, or biking (thats almost running),

I can do that , and not worry about testosterone. im young, i have a never ending supply of it (for the next 10 years or so)

I walk funny...much less run..lol.

Either on a Concept 2 ergometer or a Norditrac.

I RUN BECAUSE I ENJOY IT.

YOUR COMMENT ABOUT NO ONE CHASING YOU IS PRETTY STUPID. YOU MIGHT AS WELL SAY, NO ONE IS MAKING ME LIFT WEIGHTS SO WHY DO IT?

ENDORPHINS. AND IT MUST BE A DIFFERENT SORT THAN THE KIND I GET FROM BODY BUILDING, BECAUSE A NICE JOG IN THE WOODS GIVES ME WAY MORE SATISFACTION THAN LIFTING WEIGHTS.

I'M NOT TRYING TO GET HUGE, I JUST WANT TO BE FUNCTIONAL. RUNNING HELPS ME DO THAT. I LOVE HOW WHEN I PLAY B-BALL, I DON'T GET TIRED NEARLY AS FAST AS THE OTHERS. I LOVE HOW I CAN GO OUT AND CLIMB A LOCAL MOUNTAIN, SOMETHING MOST PEOPLE HALF MY AGE CAN'T DO. I LOVE HOW I AM ABLE TO CLIMB A TON OF STAIRS WITHOUT GETTING OUT OF BREATH.

RUNNING HELPS ME DO THESE THINGS.

I LOVE HOW I CAN LIFT HUGE BOXES AND SHIT. I LOVE HOW I'VE GOT EXCELLENT TONE (AND AM FAIRLY BIG TOO, AT 6'4 240).

LIFTING WEIGHTS HELPS ME DO THAT.

MY VIEW OF LIFE IS, STRIKE A BALANCE. I'LL NEVER BE A STAR RUNNER OR COMPETITIVE WEIGHTLIFTER, SIMPLY BECAUSE I LIKE TO STRIKE THIS BALANCE...BUT I'LL KICK THE SHIT OUT OF STAR RUNNERS IN ANY STRENGTH EVENT, AND I'LL KICK THE SHIT OUT OF STAR WEIGHTLIFTERS IN ANY RUNNING EVENT!

Well I put one foot in front of another and start to pick up speed:D I almost consider running an active recovery day after legsI use it to get a really nice pump and I acutally feel a lot better the day after. I am not talking about miles and miles just a little 10 slow jog around a park. Just seems to help with lactic acid bulid up

2 ton Hoss,

You would kick the shit out of me an a running event. No doubt. I don't run. I was trying to make a humorous point that I don't run, and unless there was a bear or something chasing me, I personally could not think of a good enough reason to run.

Others do run. That is all well and good for them. They will be thinner than me, will probably live longer, and that is great for them. Different strokes for different folks.

yup

i especally hate having to do squats under body weight then leg lifts 40-100 or so times the next day

fun fun fun :)

the day after legs do light cardio, like walking or ride the bike with little resistance, for about 40 minutes and stretch yourself out. It always makes me feel better the next day. I play football and they have us run and do legs on the same day sometimes. The next day my legs feel like shit but I do light cardio and strecth and usually feel better.

I'm usually able to run fine the day after doing legs provided I get a good night sleep. Also, I've actually had good cardio running workouts right after working legs (excluding calves).

I keep my leg workouts simple, but intense...I only do squats and hamstring curls for upper legs.

I can't run after doing calves, though, or even the day after.

Just keep doing it.

If you stretch out before and after, warm up, and warm down, that'll reduce the pain you feel the next morning

It's gonna hurt the after the first day. Take it a little slower, but keep running even though it hurts. After about 3 days of that, it won't hurt much anymore
