How do you define intensity?

What makes a "high intensity" workout "intense"? What are the things that indicate that you have reached your target level of intensity? Short of breath? Heaving? Light-headed? Muscle failure? Muscle soreness?

**nope cardio/circuit training ect.. can do that doesn't mean its intense

Heaving?

**no lets not get carried away you don't need to aim to puke every workout besides not everyone has a weak stomach

Light-headed?
**No, hold your breathe and get dehydrated those will get you light headed too still not an intense workout

Muscle failure?
** almost but not really, you can have a bad day or really not be all that into and still end up with muscle failure where you can't lift any further
Muscle soreness?
** nope

Theres no single thing that defines intensity you can list some things that can be sides of an very intense workout but they don't have to be and arnt always present.

It comes from your DRIVE to train hard.
Giving it your all and having your mind fully into your training
Not giving into discomfort not simply going through the movements its pushing your self to new limits.

Its about attitude more than anything. If the attitue/Drive to train hard is there the intesity is going to follow. If your not really into it (and somedays you just arnt) your not going to have an intense workout even if you want to.

For me, it's the ability to push myself past the point where I WANT to quit, to the point where I CAN'T continue. Most people don't train to that level of intensity. I strive for it at every workout.

for me its adding that extra lbs of weight and knowing i can push myself to do heavier and hardier, but if i fail thats cause im exhausted from a previous set :/

Intensity= one's mental focus to push the above their normal limits during their workout, this might mean a few extra reps even when you hurt so bad all you want to do is curl up ina ball. It might mean pushing weight untill you can barely relize you are pushin anymore, But mostly it is a mental mind set of discipline and drive to not accept defeat and try for improvement everyday.....

Intensity...

It's what you put into a workout, it's what you make of a workout. To focus, to put your all into what you are doing, to strive to make it to where you have never been in a workout... Going into that gym, no bullshit, and blast away, making your body work to get to where you want to be... to make your own edge... to make your body godly... Not being afraid or ashamed of what you do, what you want to do, wha you need to do, and what others think of what you do. That is intensity. I use this in my workout.
