Lifts Chest on Monday?????????
I go to a University gym right now cause its free, and everyone is doing chest on mondays. Last monday I had a Back and Bis day, and I took a step back and realized if you weren't on the stairmaster and tredmill then you were benching..... I mean people were waiting for Benches, WTF???? Does anyone know if there is a law to make every skinny bastard lift Chest on Monday, there was one other kid not lifting chest and he was HUGE, me and him looked at each other and just started laughing as we saw some 110lbs soakin wet kid try to lift 185 and his partner couldn't even help him............ What's f*cking wrong with this picture.....

Power Rack...

As long as the skinny fucks at my gym don't mess with the power rack I'm happy. 75% of the time I spend in the gym is in the power rack. Mondays are definitely the "wannabe bencher" workout day. Half of the people I see lifting on Monday can't be found the rest of the week. Mondays are leg day for me most of the time.

Skinny bastards do chest everyday! Go tomorrow you'll see them again.

That's why I squat or deadlift on Mondays, 95% of my gym doesn't do they exercises at all, never mind on Mondays.

But you're definitely right though, it seems like the entire world benches on Monday!!

Yeah

Let them have their benches on monday. As long the squatrack is mine, then I'm happy

I guess it's chestday almost everyday at my gym :D

HEY, fuck you guys!!! :doublefi: I do bench on Monday!

Actually, I like to because it's my favorite day and it gets my lazy ass into the gym on Monday. Plus I do stuff on the weekends that require a lot of leg work (snowboarding, biking, hiking, etc) and Leg day on Monday just wouldn't work. That's for Wed.

Is Moday also national talk to your friends about their weekend day.... These people are using the vital oxygen I need. ... And in my gym they fuckin use the power cells to bench in, All of them..... Then they all complain the're not big enough, so to fix this problem they go and curl and throw their lower backs out............    :kaioken: :kaioken: :redhot: :redhot: :destroy: :chainsaw:

Exactly.

Nothing about being skinny, Nothing is more impressive than a guy putting on 20lbs a year with solid routine, form, and insane intesity.

Remember without knowledge power is useless. Many people lift weights but very few have the balls to put aside their ego and get a hard gut wrenching, body shaking, psychotic workout. weight will come after with knowledge and diet....

Big deal, who care's what day everyone train's chest on. Nothing make's me hotter, then some shit head, waiting like there's nothing else to do in the gym, that's rude and makes me, think about smacking a plate up against their head. Work another bodypart and stop winning. Hell, sometimes changing your days around, will make you more sore. I bench 400 lbs and as far as the small guys go, they have to start somewhere.

First off yes Monday is national chest day

Second now that Feb is here everyone and their mother is in the gym lifting for spring break, i have to wait outside my unv. gym for up to 45 mins because of these stupid fucks with terrible form...after march they will be gone thank god

I have a pretty good cure for people who insist upon waiting for the equipment you are using, and insist they dont want to work in. Firstly take your time......for every look they throw your way add a minute or so to their waiting time. Then, just as you are leaving drop a nasty protein fart right where they want to work......if you did the first part correctly you had plenty of time to brew a good one.

Chances are they wont bother you again.

As for the original point.......I really couldnt give a shit what other people are doing in the gym provided they aren't bugging me or using the cage I need for curls.

Why does everybody train chest on Monday? For the same reason that anyone who knows anything puts on plates with the flat side facing out. It's one of the unanswerable mysteries of the universe. Better to just accept it.

How about 30 lbs in a year. :D

(yes I did a sust/d-bol cycle but it make me sick and I would have done just as good or better without it)

I put on 50-60 in a year before I started gear. I was a TINY 145 (6'3") - was a distance runner - and got up to 198 and then started gear.
now even with gear I'm having trouble getting too much higher - I'm around 215 now - all about diet and having problems with it.

** that said - nobody said a thing when I went from 145-198 - but when I got up to 210, everyone started asking if I was using stuff - I guess it was the fact that I did those 10+ lbs in like 2 weeks instead of months.

What is wrong with people??

"Everyone has to start somewhere" this is very true, but still people are insane if they think just benching and curling is gonna make them look huge. I Lifted back yesterday with my roomate and we didn't have to wait for the Lat pulldown machine or the cable row macxhine, cause it was monday. This was nice but there is only one of those machines each in the whole gym!!!!!!!!!!! WTF is everyone els doing???????????

I use to be one of those litle shits who only did bench. Main reason is I wanted to be able to tell everyone how much I COULD bench. I also didn't have anyone to show me any other types of lifts. Everyone knows how to bench but not everyone can do the rest of it and not get hurt!

You know, I'd never thought about that before, but I always put the plates on flat side out? I looked around at the gym today and EVERYONE had the plates on flat side out. The only reason I can think of is that with the 100s it makes them easier to load on the leg press if you grab them with the lip on the inside and the flat side against your chest if you have to pick them up off the floor or a low peg. Other than that - who knows why? Of course, you could say "who cares" too, but I like to think there's some sort of right way to do most things, unlike the nimrods in my gym who can't seem to put the plates on the trees in the right order even though the fucking numbers are PAINTED on the pegs! (We have the kind of plate trees that if you don't use the right order, the plates start blocking each other.) That's my pet gym peeve - I can live with people curling in the squat rack (of course if we didn't have three squat racks and a power rack, that'd be a problem), but dammit, how hard can it be to put the plates on the tree right, and put the damn dumbbells back (a) period instead of leaving them on the floor, and (b) in ASCENDING ORDER like the little numbers painted on the rack tell you to! (OK, deep cleansing breath, calm down...)

But Lord_Suston is right - I went to the gym on Monday last week for the first time in months (Monday is usually a scheduled off day for me) and 90% of the people in there were doing chest! My theory is that a lot of guys either ate and/or drank too much over the weekend and want to feel like they're really getting serious on Mondays, and what makes most guys feel best in the gym? Benching. The Monday=Chest thing seems to be pretty much a given - in the first Max-OT routine on AST's website, they specifically give "everyone doing chest" as the reason they put legs on Monday.

I hate going to the gym on mondays. Everyone does chest and it's packed. People that you see there once a week workout on mondays.

I wanted to do squats ( legs) yesterday but i couldn't use the squat racks.

We have 4-5 flat benchs lined up for bench press in one room and in the next room there are 2 squat racks and 3? somethings also used for squats. every bench was in use so some people decided to use the squat racks to do benchs(they dragged a adjustable bench over from the free weight room all the way across the gym and used that)
It really pissed me off just because the benchs were in use they used the squat racks to bench WTF

The gym is packed so mondays it's ridiculous and why is it only packed on this one day?
do 3/4ths of the people there only go one day?
Whats their training split?
off off chest off off off off.

In a few months all of them will have huge tits, scrawny legs, and puny biceps, but at least they can bench alot :)

Well i will state why i bench i monday. First off bench is my best lift. I need to do tri's again 72 hrs later, since i refuse to train on the weekends this split works for me. Also my elbows and bi's are very sensitive. So back must come after bench day which is Tues. Thurs tris , wed is off so my elbows feel ok for thurs. Friday i squat. Now i used to squat on fri so my legs would hurt on the weekends and not at work all week. But now squatting aggrevates my shoulder so i need the weeeknd to ice it down and prepare it for the freshest day of the week monday. But one good thing is i go to the biggest Golds in the State of Florida and no one gets my bench at 5:00 monday. My crew has the same bench every week for the last several years. When you bench over 600 you can run your gym as well. Same on Squat day if the power rack is occupied me and my crew will work in, and since i squat over 800 and 3 others in my crew go over 700 they (occupents) will usually take off on there own. We dont go that heavy all the time , just certain times of the year, but are play weight still has the same result. Now if i didnt mind training on the weekends i would not bench on monday. But i do mind. But i understand your gripe its known down here as NATIONAL BENCH DAY! And it is the way it is.

They'll never have big chest the don't workout hard enough. IF they sweat the don't like it and they fuckin talk too much, arggggghhh I want to bash all the'r heads in with a 45

Very true, I do squats on mondays because everybody is doing chest. I used to do chests on monday because I like starting the week with my favorite lift. Plus I like the pump I get from working the chest.

That was the way everyone else did it when I started out, so "me too". Never even questioned it till now.

How do you quote someone?

but in response to njmuscle and Island Son

I never really paid attention to the direction of the plates either but after reading this post i now put all my plates on flat side in.
:)

Yeah i agree with you on that. These monday chest guys have also been known to come in on fridays and do arms, i guess since they know they're goin out later that night.
