How can I get several scratches off my car's windshield and anal?

I made the muistake of scraping the ice off my Pathfinder's windshield with a metal instrument and now have scratches all over it. Can these be buffed out somehow or do I need to replace the whole windshield.

I haven't tried anything on it yet, but did quickly try and buff one spot with a paper towel to no avail.

Maybe a detailing shop would know, but I could probably replace the whole thing for the same price they'd charge me.

and... Answer the second question too, please. I've been horny lately. Thanks in advance.

First question, try some 60 grit sandpaper, by the time you are done sanding it, you won't see the original scratches anymore.

As far as question 2, post your number on a truck stop bathroom stall. You'll probably get a response in hours from someone who'd be glad to oblige you.

I'd try a sponge with Bar Keeper's Friend first.

I've removed stuborn hard water etchings using #0000 steel wook and Klasse All-In-One polish on exterior glass. If you're going that aggresive spot test first.

Yes, pro detailers can apply compounds and polishes via a buffer on exterior glass also.

the only reason why Pickle3 answered to this post is because it said Anal in the header.

Also if you apply a polish to the front windshield you'll have to wipe it down with a 50/50 water/IPA mixture to remove the polish or your windshield wipers will chatter like a MoFo.

You didn't answer his second question.

lol ^^^

Is Bar Keeper's Friend sold in stores? If not is there an alternative I could use? I'm guessing from an auto supply type store, right?

and Thanks for the reply. Now I remember your "Auto Detailing" threads. Awesome.

I've purchased Bar Keeper's friend from WalMart. It's like Comet, but is more applicable for glass use.

And you're in this thread because:

1) you enjoy auto detailing?

OK man, one more... wtf is an IPA mixture? Yeah, I don't do this often. Just to give you an idea... I bought my Pathfinder new in 2001 and still have remnants of the temp license plate/tape, on the back window.

the answer is baby oil

Really? You can't be joking around with me on this subject, because I don't know shit about it.

Baby oil on a rag and polish?

I'd rather try that than go around looking for Bartenders and scotch and whatever else's 'friend' is?

Fuck! Now i get it!omg.... You're answering #2. fuck me.

btw, I'm assumming you have light surface scratches.

Deeper scratches that you can hang a fingernail in would require glass reisins and a buffer. So much heat is generated in this process you can actually break the glass :worried: , so it's best left to a professional.

Thanks man. Would a pic help? Not sure if i can snap an accurate onethough.

I just saw the scratches yesterday and didn't inspect them too much. They're all over the windshield from me scraping the ice off. lol Damn... I used a metal commercial dust pan to do it. That's all I had! Damn you people!

So, yeah, the pressure from a metal object breaking ice off the windshield... whatever depth that would be. lol Please remember, I'm a strong fucker. HA!

Sheesh, you never used a credit card?

lol A credit card? Where do you live? The ice was 3 inches thick.

Sure, the credit card could have been used to pay someone to do it.

Use the credit card to move to FL like me, then you wouldn't have to worry about scraping ice anymore.
