Housing Value and Baseball Stadium

It should raise your property value. In Houston they built the Astros stadium about 4 years ago I think and now they're building a new basketball/hockey arena in the same area of downtown. Since the new developments, these townhomes 300k + are being built all over the area. Also, upscale restaraunts and bars are sprouting up everywhere. I had an opportunity to buy a condo in a high rise a couple of years before the Astros stadium was built for 50k. It was a one bedroom, very small and old unit. It now goes for 125k.

yeah the thing is that in FBDC's neighborhood the town houses start at LEAST 400K. maybe they'll be worth more.... but that area is full of yuppies and such that won't like being bothered by already bad parking and lots of drunk people. Just my guess.

Wait NB, I moved to NE DC. I no longer live in Woodley Park.

Can you say "close to Trinidad"? The ball park could be very close to North Capital St and New York Ave.

And that is where I am torn. I can see lots of problems, but if the city sits down with some neighborhood reps, and logically thinks things through, then maybe they can come up with a site design that would address most of the local residences concerns.

But then again, I am dreaming. I dare anybody to use DC and logic in the same sentence!

ohhhhhh. then the stadium can do nothing but make things better. MCI center was an improvement to the area that it's in IMO.

I see that, and I wonder if it will have the same effect in my part of town. It would be cool to have some high end restaurants and hang outs to take place of the farmers market, or at least have some good business replace the bus station.

And it did some good in Baltimore, too. The area around Camden Yards has built up nicely.

Sorry...
I'm using the history or the O'Rena built right in the middle of
African American(yea P.C.) neighborhoods.

The only benefit they got was the extra income letting people
park in their front yards.
