After studying testosterone, estradiol ,pro-estrogen, prolactin cortisol , Ghrelin and other various hormones for the past four years I've now ventured off into hormones T3 T4 !
All of my past studies I have conducted blood work on myself through a doctor and figured out various things about how my body reacts to different compounds and medications..
So the question to ask does your diet affect your thyroid hormone function?
I cannot speak from a medical standpoint and I can't speak what works for you but I can speak for myself and what bloodwork has dictated and my diet has proven!
Over the past two years I've got four different thyroid test done.. What was confusing to me is some of my thyroid hormone functions would come back very very low and others normal.. My doctor wanted to put me on thyroid medication but I am not interested in that at all unless necessary..
What I found through my research and reading and lab work is that when on the low low carb high-fat diet below 30 g of carbs there is a significant drop in thyroid function..
And when following a moderate to high carb diet fibroid resume to normal... Don't get me wrong when I follow a low carb diet with heavy training I do get extreme fat loss but at the same time bloodwork and dictates that my thyroid is out of whack.. No I never stay on low-carb for anything over 4 to 6 weeks...
But from much reading and many published studies when staying on a low carbohydrate diet while being trained athlete and lifting very heavy a competing it is safe to say for myself it is taxing on my thyroid...
I go for blood work next week and I am on a normal diet as we speak
I will keep y'all posted to as what my thyroid levels are to see if after his last blood test if my hypothesis is correct....
So is it safe to say that going from one extreme to another extreme indicting is taxing on hormone levels and hormone balancing?
I would have to say in my opinion yes for someone that is natural trying to achieve a good body composition without drugs anabolic's or fat loss agents the best diet is a balanced diet of healthy fats carbohydrates and proteins...
Not saying that a carb cycle is not beneficial or having a low-carb week is not beneficial but staying on low carbohydrate diet for a period of time can be counterproductive for some or at least myself in this case...
Would love to hear anyone else's opinion views or any other studies they have done on this topic do y'all think that fluctuating from low-carb the high carb had a very extreme right can cause fluctuations in your thyroid?
Or do you think of the thyroid hormone regulates itself even when carbohydrates suppression is present ?
