I don't have to get clients jnevin. I went to law school with a guy a huge volume of work from one client and is overrun trying to foreclose on ad valorem tax liens. That is what that client does (purchases ad valorem liens and then makes a profit on the interest that accrues until they are paid).
He is opening his own firm but wants to finish an appeal that is taking up lots of time before he opens a new office.
In the interim, I order and review the title examinations and prepare the foreclosure actions so that he can get that volume of business which has a percentage going to his current firm over. Then, when he opens the new firm, all the fees from the new referrals will go to that firm.
So, in short, I can draft from home, don't have work every day and can work at it whenever I like, until the new office opens. Nor do I attend the court dates. He is not exactly making it known to the partners in his current office that he is leaving, yet.
The condo? Why are you asking about how I financed a condo. That is gauche, even for you. Who cares?
