I picked up a small dumbell set at Walmart for like, $20 - and have been adding to it piece by piece; a barbell, a couple of plates, etc. I keep it in the garage and work out about 4 days out of seven, using an old steamer trunk for a bench, and find I can fit at least a short, but intense session in most days by keeping thing accessible. I have my eye on some real equpment and am hoping to clear enough room to move it in and add a cardio machine.

Although I agree that a full gym membership is great, I don't have the time, either - and I think it's better to do a limited amount in the garage than none.

What kind of diet are you going to be starting?

Fawn

this is menu my husband made out for me meal 1-4 egg whites 1 whole egg (hard boiled or-3 egg whites 1whole egg(omlet) or oatmeal with glass of milk and multi vit

meal 2-protein shake and bannana meal 3 - either a can of tuna a piece of fish or a piece of chicken with 1 cup brochilli and 1 cup brown rice meal 4- protein shake and bannana meal 5 same as meal 3 and of course lots of water

You can get resistance bands relatively cheaply - they are easy to use and you can do a lot of exercises with them. What type of equipment do you currently have at home? It would be easier to outline some home exercises if we know what we're working with.

well my apartment is to smallfor any equipment im doing excersise videos right now i know i wish i could put equipment in here but i cant and the only reason i cant go to the gym is my 2 yr old son starts crying in the day care so right when i start my stuff im called to go get him out but i get to go on the weekends becuase hubby is home to watch him hope that helps

I know all about not having enough time, but I have to make time. I work fulltime and go to college fulltime at night. But I do manage to go to the gym at least 4 days a week. I try to think ahead and do things to save me time in the long run. You can also do cardio with your child, if you have a stroller, you can rollerblade, or have a bike...
Welcome:D

Nope. Not at all. Matter of fact, if you lift with intensity, that can get you a great bod (along with proper diet) without EVER doing cardio - or maybe 1X per week.

Firstly, when it comes to fitness, never believe anything you hear in popular media or magazines like 'fitness' & 'shape'. I am absoultely astounded at what crap they are!!! Truely. Take the recipes & ditch the rest.

As for bands, some high quality ones here:

rubber resistance products - exertube for a whopping $4.00!! :D Provides you resistance of 1# to 100# just wrap around your hand, squeezing off with your thumb so you don't prevent circulation to fingers - shorter the band, less resistance.

Your diet looks pretty good - I'd just try for only one protein shake a day max, real food is best. Try chicken breasts, more fish, ground turkey breast in burgers, lean steak, etc.
