Hi Im Kendel - 27 yrs old - 375lbs - help

New member
Hi I'm Kendel.

I joined because of a good friend who referred me to the site. Recently I have decided that I need to loose weight. In high school I was active and never home always on the move hiked went to the mall and would walk around town. I was about 275lbs then and wanted to loose weight. I would normally eat one meal a day or less at that time. After hig school I stayed around that weight til 2007 when I moved to Florida and began gaining wait cause of the heat and wanting to be sitting down in doors. Started playing video games a lot and not really too active as my weight jumped to 330lbs. In 2010 I was involved in a stabbing while being asleep and this left me sleepless and panic attacks regularly. I have been classified as having Anxiety, Borderline personalty disorder and major depression. I started never going out of the house and started eating more then I should. My daily activity was goin to the bathroom and to the car. I food shopped with motorized cart. I got hooked on pizza cause I could never leave my house. About 5 months ago I have started to relax and sleep and feel like a "normal" person. Since June of 2010 I have been on zoloft and respidone and I have moved up to 377lbs. This has hinder most of my life. There are 100 things I can't do and I'm sick and tired of how I look. Now on to what I eat. In high school I ate anything and stayed that weight over 6 year period and I lost a little weight on trimspa and meals at set times of day. Since 2007's move to Florida I have stopped eating fast food more then once a week. I have not since high school eaten a lot of fast food or super fatty foods but nothing really gold for me. July 31 2012 I decided to start a diet and start to get moving by walking. I'm a picky eater and am starting to try new things. I have been walking between .33 mile around my block upto 2 miles a day for the last 8 days and a 1200 calorie diet and I felt great plus I got a trial at a gym. Now I don't have much money to diet I have about $50 month for anything extra. I get $200 in food stamps plus a little cash on top. I have a car and like going to walk in state parks or the beach for free. I have talked to two people who say I should be on a higher calorie diet.

So I'm here for advice you know my background. I manage now to burn 300-400 cories a day at my weight and its killing me but I'm doing it mostly walking around my block. I have a Motorola motoactiv fitness tracker I use along with the Android app. I count my calories and cardio with the app myfitness pal. I really love these apps they help me to have fun with working out and I love bar codes now. If I eat out its healthy. I have a home scale but it only goes to 330lbs.

There are a few things I dont eat so I'll list them. I will not budge on sea food. Anything else I'm willing to try. I dont eat - peppers *mixed small pcs I don't mind them*, spinach, onions, pickles, mustard, horseradish, mayo, tomatoes raw, lettuce *can't seem to get a taste for it* dressings unless light ranch or snack wrap or taco, cucumbers, wheat bread *started having white wheat if I have sandwich, olives, chilli or beans * I like green beans, yams, egg plant, mushroom.

I love - chicken, steak/beef, patatos, broccoli, corn, peanut butter, bacon, eggs scrambled, cheese, tomato sauce, apples, carrots, bananas, grapes, cereal, turkey, pork, juices and milk. Peanuts and cheesitz and other low calorie snacks companies make if I have sweats at all.

So there you go that should give you a good idea about me and maybe can suggest meal plan. I have been on YouTube looking up work outs high in calorie burning and for work outs on a budget. I never really worked out before so I don't know how many reps or sets I should be doing and what not.

Please help I need to loose weight cause I know its killing me. I don't have money to see pro's so I turn to the power of the internet. Like I said I can now do about 300 calories a day work out compared to zero for two years. I'll post a picture of me on here so you can see my body type. I don't have fat arms or really big legs but large chest and stomach. The forums are stopping me from uploading a URL so maybe I can find another way to provide a picture, my avatar was about 10 months ago.

Thanks again.

Let's grow has probably explained this to u but the first step is revamping ur diet. U need to start taking in less calories and less fats and sugars. U need to put a plan together and count ur calories with a breakdown of proteins, carbs and fats. Its usually pretty eye opening when u detail out ur diet and begin tracking urself.
Start drinking tons of water. Seafood is great given that it's not fried or broiled in butter. Chicken of course is also excellent. Try eating less starchy carbs and more veggies. Tons of veggies.... they'll fill u up at much less calories than breads, potatoes and rice.

Its great that ur walking more. Start slow and get something to listen to during Long walks so u don't get burned out. Then look at getting a n inexpensive bike and start riding everywhere. U need to turn itself into an active person.

Focus on diet and moving more for now.

Ull get there u just have to stay committed.

Some good advice has been given thus far. Watch extreme makeover weightliss addition. No , I'm not joking, that show is incredibly motivating and has some pretty powerful moments. The number one thing you should be focussing on is cutting out the starchy carbs and replacing with veggies. Green veggies to be more direct, broccoli, celery , spinach, munch on these if you find yourself getting Hungry. Drink a ton of water and No SODA or diet soda. That shit is evil. Water water water. And just think to yourself, do you want to live a long healthy life full of opportunity, fun experiences and memorie making? Or be trapped indoors because you can not conquer your own demons. You have made the first step in reaching out which is great! Now take the next step and really commit to yourself. Start a log up here
So you can track your goals and receive words of wisdom from other members, this site is great , welcome aboard and goodluck :)

Ride it like you stole it!!

Your good bro Lets Grow brought this to my attention.
WOW brother. Its so wonderful that you are wanting to change yourself and your life.
The thing is bro things have progressed so so far. Its not hopeless but dude this is a big dam mountain.
I know that you said funds are tight but bro I have to ask you have you sought out professional help? The reason that I am asking this is because things have gone so far. I dont wanna put you off in any way bro really and truely I dont.
But I do need to ask, have you considered the Lap Band? That would be my first thought. If you have thought of that and dont have the funds then we move on in our own little world here.
So will wait for you to respond.
Meanwhile again cuz funds are an issue (isnt that the case for pretty much everybody) have you looked for any kind of assistance with this? Again bro Im not trying to get in your business but am wracking my brain to try to get you the best and fastest help.
Best regards bro and I admire you for asking for help on here.
Good job to you man!

Thanks everyone for pitching in. I am sure there is more good info coming.

I don't have a lot of advice to add in terms of diet/activity....its mostly been said.
But I can add my encouragement: you have made a big step in realizing that you need help and that you want to change, and coming here for advice.
This is going to take time, and effort and willpower, but I want to tell you that you absolutely CAN DO IT! Don't let anyone or anything deter you from your goals.
You might have setbacks along the way, (and we all do) but take it as a learning experience, and let it make you better and stronger and more determined.
We are all brothers, and we are all here to help each other along the way. Welcome, brother!

thanks guys it feels great that people care. My dad suggested the lapband it I don't think I could benifit from it since my stomach is small anyways. I can't even get a full 2nd plate down at the buffet and I don't pile it one I more or less fill the plate so nothing touches. I been eating the wrong things and I do t have room for a big meal. But if it could help more I can look more into it. About 3 months ago I filled for SSI and I'm hoping to get that so I can get more of my expenses paid on my own and focus on loosing weight so I can work a normal job. What should my calorie goal be. The my fitness pal app on andriod is great and it helps me keep track of everything you guys mention I should be watching other then calories. I don't seem to be eating high carbs or fatty foods. I bought a 3lb bag of broccoli from walmart can't wait to eat it. So far I am down over 5 l s in a little over a week and I already feel lighter on my feet. I am no longer using motorized car. I started doing weight training and busted out a good workout today. I'm hoping if I get SSI I could get Medicare and seek help from professional. Once I am under control and weight is lower I plan on returningto work.

Bro check out all the info you can on the Lap Band. It has nothing to do with the size of a persons belly. It is a means of super controlling the amount of food a person can eat. Then once you know if you have the SSI you can go on from there.

Ok upward and onward.
I am guessing that you are somewhere around 5'10' more less and the your mid 30s. If you will give me the specifics I can be more exact for you. Anyway right now you should be eating 3000 cals per day for weight loss.

You wrote this,
"I love - chicken, steak/beef, patatos, broccoli, corn, peanut butter, bacon, eggs scrambled, cheese, tomato sauce, apples, carrots, bananas, grapes, cereal, turkey, pork, juices and milk. Peanuts and cheesitz and other low calorie snacks companies make if I have sweats at all."

Lets break this down for you bro.
Eat SOME of the following, and nothing that is not listed below.
chicken
LEAN beef
Broccoli
Eggs
Tomatoes, not sauce
Turkey
Green Vegetables
WATER Lots of it.

If its not on the list that I put up there then dont eat it bro. Actually for right now you should be thinking GRAZING. That is what is gonna help you the very most aside from some excersizes that I will give you.

IDK how your joints are, but if they dont hurt you then do all the walking that you possible can. Take your dogs and walk. Dont do them together cuz then you are gonna walk less. So do them separately. Its win win for you and them.
If you have short access to stairs then do them several times per day. If not then just walk. Walk fast, walk slow, walk while you day dream. Take a cell phone camera and take pics of stuff you like. Then look for that kind of stuff and walk more.
If you have access to weights then let me know.
But for now just go outside and walk and walk and walk. Walk at a comfortable pace for you so that you enjoy it.

When you eat do it like this.
No snaks. With this plan you wont need to I hope. And if you feel the urge try your best to overcome it.
Eat up to 7 very small meals per day of all or mostly vegetables.
The reason for so many very small meals is so that we can make your metabolism work for you. By eating all these small meals of mostly or all vegetables your body is gonna have to work to digest that food. Typically vegetables are more difficult to digest and so they make your gut work harder to break it all down.
So we are making your body do this many time through out the day and thats a good thing bro!
Also play with your dogs in the house. Get right down on the floor with them, you know they love that bro and it will make make you work.

It would be a good thing for you to put up a log in the jouranls section bro. That way you know peeps are looking in on you to see how your doing and sticking with it. Also when you fall down they are really gr8 at encouraging you to get back up and hit that bitch again.

Good luck bro and I am watching you.

Great advice zed! Such a good write up and plan.

Kendel I don't know anyone who has not benefited from taking zed's advice which is why I told him to come take a look and extend some knowledge. Hope you can utilize it.

Sweet advice. I am following it believe me. I'll do some looking into lap band now after I'm done posting. I really only eat small meals as I get full quick so this should be easy for me to do. I do not have access to weights but I have a 5 gal paint bucket that is full that I been using to lift. Playing with the dogs is a good idea my one dog is 78lbs and very strong it just gets hard to play cause I have all title floors so maybe taking him outside is better. I feel great walking cause most of the time its 100% humidity and 90-100 degree each day so when I go outside I get drenched. Also my driveway is on a 45degree angle or more along with my front yard. So I go up and down my driveway for a few minutes and its a work out. I also can't wait for the lawn to grow to get a work out on my hill. Once I'm able to post pics I'll put some up. We have really nice state parks that are great to walk in, one has a board walk over marsh lands and after 1/2 mile you get to a 3 story wooden tower in the middle of nowhere and its great motivation to get to the tower cause the view is amazing which I would like to share a photo of when I get the chance. Thanks again everyone big up to LetsGrow for getting me involved in the site. I'll look into the log section.

Ok bro what your doing sounds all good. You should not be going for any kind of speed at this point. Just "doing" is enough stress for your heart. The most important thing is that you do as much as you can on a daily basis.
Some excersized for you to do.
Body Weight Squats. Go just a little bit past half way down. Through out the day do sets of 10 if you can.
Get in a door way and put your hands on each side of it. Take a few steps back and do push ups. Again through out the day do sets of them. Do as many as you can in each set.
Put sand in your paint pail, about a third full. Then stand with your legs wide apart. Keep you back str8, stick your butt out behind you and swing your pail from between your legs up to about shoulder height. Be sure to check on the wire handle so that it dosnt let go on you.
Do as many of these as you can and do them through out the day.
Every morning take your blood pressure and log it on a sheet of paper. I will ask for this from time to time.
Also will be looking for a log in the Journals section from too bro.
In you log put down everything that you do every day. I know its a drag but that will help you to keep on track and see exactly how you progress.
Include your food in your log.
Good luck bro.:supercool

Hey Kendel, I've only just noticed this thread, I don't feel there's anything I can add to what Zed's suggested, I just want to let you know I really want you to succeed with your goals, LG is a good bro of mine and any friend of his is a friend of mine. I'll keep an eye out for your log if you start one. I'd recommend starting one and detail what you do day to day, not only will it encourage you seeing your progress but all the other guys can see and give tips, advice and encouragement.

Good luck bro, you can do it.

:)

Hey bro where you at man?

Sorry, I have had a few busy days, doctors appointments, driving to airport, looking for a house. I am getting up and moving but I don't record any of that and tomorrow I will be in the car all day for about 7hrs. My gf is going out of town this weekend so all the house work will be just me.

Mondays work out took it out of me as far and lifting. I was able to go out to the store got some already grilled chicken breast, big bags of carrots and green beans. Mix bag vegetables and some lean beef. I also got 2 1/2 dozen eggs. But that's all I can buy right now. I did already food shop last week and as strict as I wanna be to the foods listed I still need to eat some of the foods I already purchased so when you see my logs you will see a few things I will not buy next trip to the store.

I wanted to know if I could eat fruits. I really enjoy apples and bananas maybe a orange here and there. Also what about orange juice?

I would like someone to point me to a link for the LOGS section as I can't find it. I will not be able to sit down all the time and write a full log and what not but I already use the myfitnesspal app on my phone to record all my stuff. So I could maybe copy the info from the apps webpage and you guys can review and see it or could always create account on the myfitnesspal.com webpage and I am GSXeclipsePSI on there. I record everything on there all my foods I eat and work outs. So some of my days I can't really get up and move and it shows in my logs.

Remember I have major depression, insomnia, post traumatic stress disorder and night terrors, and also borderline personality disorder. It effects me physically and mentally but I do push myself as hard as I can most days just to do the basics so I just want to put that out there so you guys understand. And in my logs it states lunch, dinner, breakfast and snacks. I am grazing just I have to pick a category to put them under. It also keeps track of my water intake which I keep up with. My phone is by my side all day. The myfitnesspal webpage and app are really great.

Also I seem to not be able to eat near 3000 calories. I looked up that my resting metabolic rate is around 2600. That's about max I could eat if I tried without eating bad foods. I'm seeing myself be full around 1500-1800 calories so I ask should I still be trying to eat more? Also I am drinking as much as I can which I could maybe get 2 or 3 more 12oz cups in but about 8 12oz cups is what I'm at now.

Just found out I can post two types of logs from myfitnesspal.com with not needing a account. Click view printable for a more detailed break down. For the past 17 days. All food is correct some works outs not added in. Will do better updating work outs in new entries.

Bro here's a link to the journals section, of you were looking for "logs" you wouldn't have found it. It's called "my anabolic steroid & bodybuilding journal" this is where everyone keeps their logs :)

My Anabolic Steroid Cycle - Bodybuilding Journal - EliteFitness.com Bodybuilding Forums

As for fruit, I'd restrict that to post workout, as healthy as it is, fruit has a LOT of sugar (fructose). If you're finding it hard getting down 3,000 cals a day in clean foods don't worry about it, your capacity to eat larger meals will develop just like anything else you try to do your body will adapt.

What's it like for markets where you live? I found open air markets were usually more reasonably priced than supermarkets, if you have any nearby I'd suggest shopping for veg/dairy/farm produce there.

Zedhead already said this. But I would like to second it. Walk walk walk!
Grab the dogs and make a goal distance. 1 mile or 2 , what ever. They will love you more for it.

Very very little fruits and carrots bro, too much sugar for you right now. No OJ if you can go without it. Stay away from all sources of sugar, that will help you tons bro. Just do the best you can and know that your doing a shit load more then you were a month ago my man.
AND YOU MUST KEEP POSTING ALWAYS!!
That also is gonna help you a ton!

Completely agree with zed. You would be amazed how much more dedication you put into something when it's logged and tracked. We are all here to support you and provide help along the way but no one will be able to do that if you don't post. Keep it up buddy but would like to see more posts.

Hey K where you at bro?

Hey brother, we want to know how you're doing. Doesn't matter if you're not making the progress you wanted/expected that's what we're all here for, motivation and support.

Post up bro, let us know how you're getting on. :)

Hiya,

I use to be obese myself. Not quiet as bad as you were, but the first step is recognizing there is a problem. Some advices:

1. 95% of the road you need to go down is in the kitchen, not the gym. Nonetheless, exercise is important for other things. For a broke guy, you should look at going outside and walking. Use mapmyrun.com and come up with a 1, 2, and 3 mile course that's easy and safe, and then go do one of those distances a day.

2. Atkins. At least for a year. No alcohol. No processed sugars. You will be unrecognizable (in a good way) in 3 months. The rules are relatively easy to follow.

3. Find a buddy. Or use this forum. Something to keep you accountable, like AA has sponsors. Hell, I'd be your sponsor. Just find someone whose going to call you on the horn once a week and give you shit about eating right and doing the walks. And someone you can call when you are tempted to eat that free cookie they give away at the grocery store.

OK sorry I been away. About a week after my last post I got a bad skin infection on my neck. They did some test t ER and because the infections were common someone decided to test my blood sugar. Well I was at 410. They gave me a IV and 2 shots of Insulin and sent me home with a 30 day supply of metforin or w.e. and I just got a meter last week to monitor my blood sugar see what's causing it to go up or what not. I been spending time reading up on what the ER doctor believed I have diabetes type 2. I'm getting short walks daily in and trying to remove all white things in my diet. I have seen my numbers go from 188 in am to 450 at night. Cutting out sugars I have not had next to none or any sugar containing drinks.

Now knowing what been up with me and knowing that all these little things like crazy urination and extreme thirst and the tingling feet and arms. I have been untreated in my blood sugar since I would say 2010. I can already feel damage to my nerves and poor circulation.

So knowing I have diabetes now what is my game plan here? What are my goals? I got a referral to the local health department to try and get state funded medical care since my SSI application was denied I hired a lawyer and was giving a letter that my evaluation for SSI had shown medical conditions I needed to receive help for that they would transfer my info to the health department. I called a few times and no call back or answer yet. I wanna get test done on me that need to get done by my research I could have issues and feel I do. I called my dad and grandma and they said it runs in the family so they figured I'd develop diabetes.

Sorry I haven't been on but I have a few projects going on right now that limit my daily awake and motivated time

I wouldn't be at all surprised if your diabetes went away. BUT ONLY if you get your diet right, exercise, and drop those pounds. You can do it!!!

this is a bad situation but you can reverse it starting NOW.

i would continue to drop sugars and calories out of your diet slowly. if you do it all at once it could backfire.

keep eating lots of veggies and drinking lots of water. keep increasing your exercise everyday. its gonna take time but you will get there. if its a green veggie eat it, the more you eat the better.. if you feel hungry drink lots of water.

Hey man i know how you feel. I used to be over 400 plus pounds and a really big 400 plus pounds. I was addicted to oxycontin and my life was totally out of control. I thought someone would find me dead with some ratted tinfoil next to me. This site is awesome before i lost control i used this site to help me out then i fell off the wagon. I also used this site to help bring me back. Alot of good tips and bros on here. Right now i sit around 260. I have been training mma and kickboxing and i fight in the ring as a heavyweight and im about to become a blackbelt in filipino arnis. You can get through this. If i could change my life you can.i always tried to change myself but always ended up failing, so i asked myself why am i failing at this? I came to figure its because its a huge problem to take on and i would try to change everything in a day. Ill tell you what its gonna take more then a day.i would get so frustrated because it all seemed overwhelming. It took you a long time to get out of shape its gonna take a minute to get back, but its possible. It just depends on how bad you want it man. You should start with simple goals and just stick to one until its accomplished and move on to another. For example i quit smoking first and just focused on that. Then i stared exercising and then once i started getting in a groove i started.tweaking the diet. I eat things now that nobody thought o would eat. Its baby steps man. And making small goals will give you a feeling of satisfaction more often. Once you start getting away from the processed shit. Your taste buds will start changing and you will start to have a new appreciation for good quality food. I knw you have money issues, but thats a hurdle you will figure out. You can do it man. The end result may be some extra skin around the waist. Im scheduled to get mine cutoff next year sometime whenever i can get fit into the schedule. Lots of lock man. Any questions hit me up in a PM. I hope this helps bro. HAVE FAITH!!!!

Hey. Thanks peejae and letsgrow. So things are going good. I need a scale that weights more then 340lbs. To think 2 hears ago I was less then that. I went back to ER after I ran out of my meds and they took good care of me. They put me on 1000mg metformin and a blood pressure med. So it's been a week and I'm starting to feel better. I was sick to my stomach for a few days and lightheadedness but they said that would happen. My BG is better the past two days. I was 2xx in the am and by bedtime I was in the 250 range. Which is a 200 drop. I'm drinking lots of water and cutting out sugars and carbs. I still eat some carbs and little sugar according to the myfitnesspal app. I am also logging my BG readings into a app on my phone app. I also noticed a 10min walk will lower my BG by 30 points.I keep looking online for low GI foods to keep in mind when I shop.

I'm gonna go over to the new planet fitness I found to see what's up with there gym and membership. My rental lease is up in November and I'm looking to move to a house that's $100 less a month so that could help pay for the gym. I'm not really in shape to move a whole house but I think I can do it. My legs go numb sometimes on me which sucks but hopefully when I get my blood sugar down that will go away. Well that's all for now ttyl.

Hey man you dont need to use extra cash to go to a gym right now. If you have any extra cash put it towards your grocery bill. Try and get Nutrient dense food. Food can heal ya man. If you have a way to watch a movie on netflix you should watch a movie called fat, sick and nearly dead. Its very inspirational and can educate the shit outta you. You can just do bodyweight workouts to burn calories right now. Like push ups, walking, squats, leg raises, all sorts of stuff. No need for that membership. If you can't do some of those exercises like pushups. You can go on your knees. If you still cant, you can do wall pushups, or use a staircase. You can start at the highest step you can do ten reps on that step, then move down a step until you can do ten there and so on my friend. Just modify a workout until you can do it. Like i said baby steps. I was there on all the meds feeling hopeless. Now not so much. Im a beast now lol.

Diet is the number 1 thing, I myself am still going through something similar. If you balance your diet around 2000 calories a day you will see weight drop off, with out doing anything else. In October of last year I weighed in at 371 and at that point I decided that I was going to make a change, and I kept my caloric intake under 2000 calories for the day. Every other week I allow myself a cheat day, and at first I would pig out and it would take me 2-3 days to get back where I was, but after I lost about 40lbs I started feeling so much better and I dont even use my cheat days anymore, my body has adapted to not always craving the foods that are terrible for me. Of course on occasion I will eat something not great for myself, but I keep myself around 2000 calories. After losing that 40lbs I started going to the gym again, I had tons more energy( I noticed the energy after the first 10lbs) Every pound that I lost I felt so much better.

I had thought about the lap band surgery, but started having success on my own that I called them and cancelled all my appointments.

I had started to try and lose weight many times throughout the past 5 years, and I can honestly say that once I realized how much better I look and feel, I want this to be a permanent thing.

The most inspiring thing someone told me was "Where would you be if you started 6 months ago" Think about it, you could lose 10 pounds a month for 6 months easily, How much happier/healthier would you be if you lost that weight?

Currently I am 310 at 28% BF from 371 at 39% with another 30 or so pounds I want to lose, take the journey you wont regret it!

Edit: Keep up the good work!

Wow I'd be interested in knowing how this guy is doing.

I have a friend who was 420lbs, and he got himself down to 210lbs with pure cardio. I feel like a fat ass now at 225 and 27%bf lol.

You guys gave him a lot of good info, however, maybe a bit too much. What to us is second nature to someone that has never worked out or watched their diet it might seem intimidating.

Did I see a post where he posted his current diet?

Re: Hello Friends

I think exercise is better than diet.Exercise is most important for human fitness. Whatever types of exercise can be done. like you have listen mp3 players and just walk until that you have feel good and completely clear your regular exercise.

Hey Kendel. I'm kind of late to the post, so hopefully you're well on your way to losing weight. If not, may be I can give you insight in what helped me go from 370+ down to my current 272. I'm trying to get down to 215-225, but I keep hitting plateaus. Anyhow, I noticed you said this:
I love - chicken, steak/beef, patatos, broccoli, corn, peanut butter, bacon, eggs scrambled, cheese, tomato sauce, apples, carrots, bananas, grapes, cereal, turkey, pork, juices and milk. Peanuts and cheesitz and other low calorie snacks companies make if I have sweats at all.
Bro, at your weight, you have to cut out the potatoes, corn, tomatoe sauce, apples, carrots, banana, juices and milk - FOR NOW. Later, incorporate them back in, but at your extreme weight, cut that stuff out and in just doing so, your weight will drop. And stay away from packaged, processed foods. Trust me. I started off doing low carbs/Atkins, and just continued to lift weights and do a lot of walking. I started on 09/28/09 @ 364 lbs and by 03/10 I was down to 288 lbs. What really helped me was to keep a fitness log - of what I ate, my weight, journal, etc. on a site called Fitday.com, and take pictures of me as I lost weight to track my progression.

I had rebounded back up to 333 lbs by May 2011, and then switched to South Beach Diet and got back down to 278 lbs by August of the same year. I've been bouncing back and forth up to 308 and back down to my current 272 and I hope to get this under control. I'm currently doing Intermittent Fasting and have cut out all meat products (for now - going on 3 weeks now) and have been doing Green Juice fasting along with salads, Ninja Blender green smooties, home made RAW protein bars and home made Larabars. Man, spaghetti squash with home made Alfredo sauce (made from raw cashews) is incredible. You can substitute so many "healthy" alternative dishes when compared to the stuff that got you fat.

Anyhow, if you need any help, let me know and I'll try my best to assist you since I know what you're going through. Good luck and hang in there. Skip that lapband crap. You're 27, all you need to do is adjust your eating and walk & lift some weights. I'll be 43 in a few months. Only surgery I'm contemplating is a tummy tuck once I reach my goal, as my stomach looks like Adam Sandler's in that movie Click! when he lost all that weight.

Here's a pic of me almost 4 years ago (03/2009) at my heaviest on the left, and me currently (Day after Superbowl XVLII last week). 370+ vs 272 lbs.

I feel like a fat ass now at 225 and 27%bf lol.

Whoa... how tall are you? I'm 6'1", 272 and 27.2% BF. I can hardly wait to get to 12% BF.

Here's me, same weight (273) - pic on left, 12/01/12, pic on Right, a few days ago. 33% BF vs 27% BF.
(oh yeah, notice the hair growth after 2 months. Rogaine is the sh!t. Love it.)

OK I know I haven't been around but I'm back. I don't have the forums set to email me when new posts come in and I'm gonna change that setting. Well I went back to that gym and my weigh in was 382lbs.

So with that corrected I update you today @ 355lbs and yes I have made some results. My current diet is 2000 calorie and I'm meeting what myfitnessnesspals goals are for me with other things. What I seem to have a issue with is sodium atm. My cardio is limited still as I walk the dogs once a day only about .4 a mile. I have started walking around walmart most of the time. Some days I will do a high calorie burning work outs I have found on YouTube. I do it on my Xbox and play some music loud to keep me pumped up.

I was doing research and it came to my attention that many many many people on the combo of pysh meds people were gaining weight and not loosing weight and I have since run out of state funding for treatment so about a month ago I stopped them. I decided that if the meds for me are holding me back I'd give it a try without since way too many people have had problems. Im struggling mostly with out the anti-pyshotic meds but its slowly getting better. I could write a whole book trying to explain mentally if I could find the correct way to describe it.

But the 1st time I used a scale since my 1st post was 4 days ago and thanks to Walmart having scales I could use quick off the shelf I was happy to see the digits :) so to say I'm move motivated. I drink about 6-8 bottles of water a day. Nothing else but I do treat myself to a soft drink now and then if I'm out which is never but does happen.

So with that said thanks everyone for your advice and help. I'm trying to slowly work on foods getting me into things like lower sodium ham and fat free things. The movement pains are gone. No ankle pain or back pains. I get sore from the workouts I do get done. I'm hoping since I lost weight on the meds that without them I'll do better. If you read up on it there are people that run and train and gain 20lbs on the meds. So let's hope it helps. The one med raises blood sugar. Since not being able to keep with the diabetes meds or BP meds either I was still high on both.
Since quiting the blood sugar meds my BG was high. Since quitting my pysh meds my BG has dropped to around 200 instead of 300-400.

So that's the update guys. Ttyl

I couldn't agree more.
The key to loosing weight is raising your BMR, stairclimbing, treadmill, jogging, even lifting weight with very litte rest between sets, once you build this up you should be soaked from sweating. once your BMR is raised you will convert your body into a fat burning machine.

Please read the link i wrote below closely, there are tips to raise your natural testosterone levels all the way to foods that burn fats, also the foods listed are your grocery list,

Here you go, also if you need help i'm just a pm away.

Nice Kendell. Keep it going bro, never give up. It will keep getting easier and better and I agree you should keep a daily log!

Thank you. Hopefully I will have even better results when I start goin to gym cause I get more done while there. My friend is seeing a dr and they put him on stomach shrinking pills and a diet. He is told to eat 800-1200 calories and gets a 30 min. walk in on most days. He is restricted to only some foods and in a month and a half or so has lost 27lbs which is good but he's starving most of the time and the biggest change to his diet is sugar reduction so I see why he's loosing so much weight so quick. But he's seeing a dr and they tell him what he can eat.
