Hey Spatts, weren't you making gym equipment? I need a lead...

I'm looking through the archives for leads, but I need a couple leads for good gym equipment.

My wife's personal training business is taking off and we need to start getting some equipment at the house for her to train clients there. While we're at it, we might as well get quality stuff so that we can train there when we want to as well (instead of driving to the gym)...

Right now, just looking for the basics -- an adjustable bench, dumbells (thinking of powerblocks), a power rack, etc... Will probably start with the bench and bells and buy selected pieces every month or so from there...

Help appreciated...

i thought about getting a welder and learning how to weld my own sleds, thick bars, farmers implements etc.

just thought i'd share. no where else to post this. hehehe.

sleds are very easy to make. i made three in high school welding class for like 15-20 bucks a peice.

 yeah i know they are super cheap to make...and i spent good $$$ on mine. but that thing is tough as nails!

lol... wasn't up to trying to forge dumbells, maybe next week...

Found some good stuff off a link that wynn told me about. This is the bell system I'm ordering:

http://www.ironcompany.com/PRO.htm

(it only goes up to 120, but I can upgrade it pretty cost effectively later -- plus, you can do a barbell system with it too)

I like this system much better than powerblock or ironmaster...

Here is the bench I'm ordering:

(not a bad price for how good the bench is; plus, it has wheels so it'll be easy to get in and out of the rack -- when I get one)

I ordered a separate rack from newyorkbarbell.com to house the dumbell system (didn't opt for the one that you could have with the rack); thanks Spatts for assuring me on the quality of their products....

Got a big rubber mat too, but that's not glamorous enough to post a link for... lol...

Anyways, can't wait till this stuff gets here -- it'll be so nice to have a few things at home!
