This is hilarious! I would slip the drug into a known gay mans food/drink then give him high fives and welcome him into the club.
How a man cannot love women up and down is simply beyond me. Now imagine that the same drug worked the opposite on hetro's, that would be bad.

what's wrong w/me? everyone's got their own opinions. personally, i would love to have a wife and two kids and the picket fence and all of that. plenty of gay men (and i mean PLENTY) "fake it" and do that. i'm not going to do that, but i'm being honest here. if i had the chance to take a pill (especially if i were able to take this pill when i was 16 or so) i would do it. we (gay people) have plenty more obstacles than your average straight guy. i don't "choose" to be attracted to men...but i am. those who condemn me for it are, in my opinion, misguided and often idiotic. however, if i COULD choose, i would choose to be straight.

I guess i have plenty on nieces and nephews that can make up for the children in my life. Im not really a family person anyway. So i like my lifestyle. I love the fact that i will never have to save up for a kid's college fund. I can use that money and travel. I guess that is kinda selfish of me. But at least i admit to it.

I wouldn't take a straight drug. I've had too many great, wonderful experiences being bi to want to deny myself any more in the future.
Why is everyone so worried about the gay/straight thing? I'm not flaming you Curling, you know that, but I just don't get this? It just seems so unimportant -- like, how do you wipe your ass, or do you put your socks on before your pants or do you part your hair or comb it back. A) it's private and B) who cares?

I guess cause I feel like they got the shaft from something funky that happened with genetics or something. I mean just like runner says he would like to marry a woman have a family that is made by them. See what I am saying? I mean not to find women attractive just blows my mind. Except when my wife is pms'ing I would rather spend time her than any of my friends.

What if the gay life style was excepted like the straight life style is ?. I would think people like (runner) would re-think the pill. I guess Im one of the lucky ones, in that, I am very happy with who I am and would never change a thing.

LOL! That part, I get.
I just wonder if runner is sayind that because he wants to fit in and be accepted more than that he has a desire to love women. I'm not banging the "gay life is hard" gong here, I don't want to start a flame war. It's an interesting idea, though. I bet he'd be just as happy if not more so, if there was a pill that could be made that would make everyone chill out about sex and accept people for who they are, too. I'm not saying you don't, curling, but there are plenty who don't.
Would you take a pill that made you not care if people were gay?

i'm actually surprised that more gays here don't think the same way i do on this issue. it's commendable of y'all. i think some of the conditioning we all receive both consciously and subconciously while growing up has never fully left me. deep down, i think i want that "father knows best"/"leave it to beaver" thing with the wife and kids and white picket fence.
i know that some gays have gone through tons of shit and have not been accepted, etc. i'm lucky...that's not been my experience. all my friends are straight and all accepted me fully when i came out to them and i've never experienced a whit of direct discrimination. so that's not really coloring my desire as much as it might for some.
i've accepted my lot in life, don't get me wrong, and am actually quite happy. but theoretically, yes, i would take that pill.

This is a very good question. Being gay means being an "outsider" in a lot of ways and having to deal with a lot of ignorance and prejudice.
But it's finally like asking black folks if they could take a pill to make them white. Most would say no, I think, even though we all know being black brings special problems and having to deal with stereotyping and ignorance.
The thing is, being white and heterosexual doesn't guarantee anybody a perfect life free of problems, either. I don't know that minorities necessarily have *more* problems, but they have different problems sometimes. Sometimes I hear black friends talking as if they think white males never have a single problem or obstacle in their lives. Yeah, right!
No, I would not take the pill. I think God knew what He was doing when he made me gay. If I were straight, I'd have about thirty children by twenty different women -- the child support alone would destroy me. As it is, I nearly knocked up a couple of girls in college ... had a couple pregnancy test "scares".
It takes all kinds to make a world. May as well be happy with what you are because, as yet, such a pill doesn't exist.
