Your abs look AWESOME!
Over the past year I have really started taking my weight training seriously. I would like to enter a fitness competition or at least look like I should enter one:) in the next couple of years. I am always fine tuning my diet as well. Can you tell me how long it took for you to get to where you are now? Is it possible to achieve such results without a personal trainer? Are you in the gym hours at a time every day?
At this time I am 5'3-138 lbs, BF 23%......I want to get down to 15-18%bf.
I would really appreciate some uplifting advice :frog:

doing fitness, gettin your body in condition is the easy part, the fitness part is a BITCH, you better have a nice gymnastics background, they all say "you don't have to do gymnastics" well, thats a lie, you do, check out any fitness routine that scores high, they all have nice tumbling and the thing is, the judges are ignorant to what "good tumbling" is. I can sit there an execute a perfect layout steput, but it doesn't look "as pretty" as changing it up and doing it totally wrong, but the judges will think it "looks prettier" that way, so you have to change up your gymnastics to appease the judges who most don't have a clue what gymnastics even is. and like on the strength moves, you do them the correct hard way and you will get scored lower than doing it the easy way, because the easy way looks "prettier" so it's a plus that the judges don't have a clue, but you can watch videos where people perform amazing technically correct very hard moves and they don't get any recognition for it, because the judges just don't know, damn, sorry, I am on a major rant and rave today ;) as far having trainers, well, you better have a really good one or know what to do, you can find a lot of excellent information on here, but every individual is different, and without someone looking at you and telling you from an unbiased point what needs to be done, you might have some problems. You need people around you to be honest and to slap you around once in a while to get your headstraight. :) to me, the funniest part is the path to the competition, even though I won the competitions, they were a major let down, the fun part was training for them and getting all psyched up and ready for them. Just my 3/8's carbs 2 cent opionion :)

Thanks for the input! Sounds tougher than I thought!!

So to get defined abs, even a 4pk I should, work them how much?
I have been working them but not really seeing a change in definition over the past year. I have an outline, just nothing in the middle:bawling:

having abs is all diet, nothing really to do with working them out, just need to work them out to keep them tight, diet will make them show through. :) Work them all you want, it's not gonna hurt them, but it won't help in making them show up, it's great to have strong abs for most all your exercises you do in the gym and in everyday life, so work them out, during off seasonk, I work them out like twice a week, 2 minutes at a time. :)

steel...

lately my abs dont seem to be showing as strongly, probably due to the fact that ive just changed bc pills, I was wondering if it could be my diet. It is very clean, but i do eat low gi fruit and some dairy..do you? I include them as my carbs, but usually take r-ala before a meal that conatins them anyway. so, i dont know if that is the reason for my lack of abs..?

also, dont you think that the amazing results of your abs are also due to the supps your taking..not all diet?

IMO, supps don't really do anything for fat loss - it's all diet. ECA helps supress appetite and keep your metabolism moving, but ECA on it's own (w/out a kcaloric restriction) will not help you lose bodyfat.

Competing in fitness

Hey Brickgirl,
Do think it's still possible to compete in fitness if you don't have the background in gymnastics and just learn some basic moves or do you think I should stick to figure?

as long as you have the drive and desire you can do anything you wanna do, it will just make it much harder without having years of experience :) But you can for sure compete, I would never tell someone they couldn't do something, who the hell am I to say that :) but it is a hell of a lot harder phsyically/mentally than figure, just depends on how much you like pain :) best of luck to ya!
