Hey, Anybody Know LaGuardia Airport?

Philly has a "cell phone lot" that's reasonably close to the airport, you can't actually park but you can wait in your car there. Anywhere you can hang and wait for passengers for free near LaGuardia?

There's a freeway near there hang out in the middle of it.

I used to park right outside passenger pick up on the side of the highway in front of DIA when I would be waiting for Cindy.

From my experience you can get away with about 15 min or so before some airport cop has to walk or ride a bike all the way our there to tell you to GTFO, and they're always pissed off when they have to come out there and tell you that.

A residential area is right across the highway. If ur just tryin to kill time u can park there and b bout 5 mins away from any terminal except the marine terminal.

Neither my husband nor I have ever BEEN to LaGuardia so I don't know WHAT's usual there. All I do know is that LaGuardia doesn't have a cell phone lot, if you want to hang around waiting for someone you pay to park.

This little NY expedition is already ass raping us. I'll be damned if I'm dropping $10 to wait in my own car for 30 minutes.

I like upstate NY, and it's probably got the best state park camping system on the east coast but NY, NY, blech. I'm a country mouse, all those city rats freaked me out.

And that's not even mentioning the rodents ...

I don't like cities, I don't like crowds, I don't like congestion and aggressive people. So basically NY is my idea of hell. I go there about once a decade and I'm good. Reminds me why I spend my vacations in nature.

Yes/No. Retire to someplace too remote and you have to worry about other things, like where's the nearest emergency room in case you keel over? Do the neighbors down the road look like extras from the cast of Deliverance? Will the coal company be blowing the shit out of the nice view you picked so carefully?

It's the little things.

I've never been further west than ... umm, Buffalo, NY (just checked the map).

I confess the idea of being absolutely land locked kind of freaks me out and I have no idea why.

And the whole "you don't like the weather, wait five minutes" eh, not so great for a person who is arthritic AND weather sensitive. As far as I'm concerned the less interesting the weather is the better.

Of course the argument could be made for a desert environment but the local fauna including scorpions, tarantulas and fire ants *shudder* ... newp, no, uh uh, not gonna happen.

Don't misunderstand me, it's not like I like it here or anything, it's just where I happen to be ... hell, where I've always been.

If we're gonna talk retirement dreams though, ours has always been to land near the ocean somehow, even if we have to do it on the major cheap.

Sad when your end game may necessitate becoming trailer park trash ... boy did we drop the ball on life planning.

I can relate. Saving $ has never been my forte'.

Luckily my retirement funds should carry me through modestly. Just seems like a good idea to find a place to get the most bang for the buck.

Speaking of the ocean I read an article today touting retirement in Tampa, FL

Personally, I'm done with hauling ass from hurricanes :)

Yea for fucking real. Just got done redoing the upstairs put in Hardwood floors completely redone both the kids bathrooms. Knocked out a couple walls and made the 4 bedroom up stairs into two huge bedrooms. Gonna start downstairs as soon as my contractor gets caught up. On a lighter note you wanna play with my wiener?
