Here is what this board is about!

Hi

This should be a place where all of us are welcome.

I want this to be a place where even people who have less than $1,000 can figure out where to get started investing safely.

A place where people who have their own business can get advice, and a place where people who want to start their own business can get advice.

Seems like a lot of us are real estate investors too.

Also, post books you've read that you enjoyed and why.

Above all, try to keep an open mind. Everyone thinks they know more way than they actually do :)

Success in investing is just like bodybuilding, if you fail to plan you plan to fail!

i dunno how i got involved in this board, but somehow i did. that's ok, i don't mind. i'm too broke to have any money to work with, but i can sure as hell learn what to do in the future.

Also, I would like to add, this is not Chat and Conversation. I want this to be a place where we can be little more serious.

Good job on creating this board.

One book I think everyone who plans to be in business should read is "Guerilla Marketing" - Jay Conrad Levinson

i have to add that to my " to get" list

I noticed this board doesn't have a lot of the drama and other crap the other boards do. Lets keep it that way.

And fortunatly we seem to have a lot of experienced and intelligent folks here.

Two great books for anyone who really wants to learn and grow:

As A Man Thinketh by James Allen

Think and grow Rich by Napolean Hill

congratulations on being one of the few people your age who care enough to start taking control of your investment future.
there is a lot to learn! you can start learning about REIT's at www.nareit.com

I looked at profitwallet.com and let me tell ya something my friend.. anyone who promised you 0.5% return per day.. run.. run away as fast as you can.. that is over 600% return compounded annually and anyone who says you can get that return just by depositing your money in their system will lose or steal your money even faster than you can give it to them. not even the best investors in the world can achieve those returns consistently. I don't know what scam they are running but it is definitely a scam.

I looked up HYIP's "high yield investment programs" looks to be more of the same like profitwallet.com

this goes fro bman as well. fellas, let me tell you somthing about investing. you dont need money. yeah thats right you can be broke as fuck and still make a million$. do you think the only people who invest are people with low incomes? hell no! rich people invest too. and the thing with these rich people is they got money to throw around. and they WANT to throw this money around. you would be surprised at how many people there are out there who are willing to lend you the money to invest. and im not just talking about banks. rich people want to lend you money. why? because they make money off of it. they loan you the money for a profit. and they dont pay tax on this money so it benefits them big time. most of these big companys in the US started off from a loan from other campanies. if you have an idea for a business, take it to the executives of these big companies and they will lend you the money. as long as they think they will profit from it they will throw you as much cash as possible. how do you think these big buisinesses dont crash when they dont make a profit in a quarter? because most of these big companies own shares in other compaies.

dont be scared of rejection. you might have to ask a a hundred people before someone wants to invest in your idea. but if its a good idea someone will lend you the money. trust me. get your game plan mastered and present yourself like a buisiness man and people will take you seriously.

I started off with a 30k loan from a wealthy friend. well he wasnt a friend when I took the loan but he is now. for this loan I made him a partner. 45% of all profits go to him. Hes made hundreds of thousands of dollars off of this investment. Now its me doing the lending! When someone comes to me with a buisiness plan that I think I will profit from I will lend them the money for a share in the business. now I dont have lots of money to invest like some some rich people but I can still invest a little. when I started off I had nothing. no money. all I had was an idea.

Here are some good books that Ive read. I recomend these if your serious about making money. and lots of it.

'the Finish Rich Workbook' and 'The Automatic Millionairs' both by David Bach:
excelent books if your making an average living. he teaches you haw to invest your money on an average salery so when you retire your a millionaire.

'What They Dont Teach You At Harvard Business School' by Mark H.McCormack: very good book if your a serious business man.

'The Millionaire Mind' by Thomas J. Stanley, Ph.D. :
Teaches you why these wealthy people are wealthy. what theirs lifes are like. how they think, what they do, everything about them. excelent book.

The Best Business Advice I ever Recieved' by Donald Trump:
good book. a collection of over 100 different executoves in america and the best advice they ever recieved.

'Real Estate Riches' by Dolf De Roos, Ph.D: This is my favourite book. This guy is a genius. He'll teach you how to get rich, and not just rich but filthy rich off of real estate. This is a must read for anyone who is serious about making money.

Hope this helps you guys out. anybody can suceed in life. you just have to believe in yourself. failure is not an option. if you get knocked down, get back up and try again. make friends not enimies. you are who you know. and remember, if you do something half-assed, then you get half-assed results. insipiration=motivation motivation=success! stay focussed on your goals and you can achieve anything you want. and there will be people who will try and bring you down and make you fail. stay away from these people! and never ever give up. once youve given up youve lost. its over.

Good luck to you all! hope to be reading about you in the Fortune 500 some day!

JJ

bro you should start a thread about the books that have helped you out.. and one about how you got started..

I don't have much experience, if any, but that's why I am in a Biz School - going to be lurking around here at times.

One thing I do want to share, and perhaps it is a res ipsa, but to educate the self I like to peruse multiple periodicals to get balanced opinions and simply stay up-to-date (WSJ, NYTimes, HBR, Businessweek, Forbes, Fortune, etc).
Haven't read any books though - we should have a thread going with highly revered authors/books to read.

I have my first job at 19. I should be raking in about 9000 in 4 months...5000 to tuition and 4000 excess. I'm thinking of allocating 1000-2000 for investing...as a new hobby. I've always wanted to do this since I was in middle school but now I have the means necessary. I'd be glad to learn anything I can about this field, right from the bootstraps.

PM me if you would like some advice on where to start. I am considering making a thread about this.

Book suggestion

This is going to be a great board!

I think that there are a lot of opportunities for people to learn from each other and helpeach other out.

I will second the book suggestion that one of the earlier posts suggested, especially for those that are just starting out. Napoleon Hill's book "Think and Grow Rich" is poss. one of the best books written on how to succeed. I know that it maybe a little dated and may come across as corny and dry but allow yourself to to read a chapter and think about what the man has to say, refelct on what it is he is saying and try putting his steps into belief. Then read the next chapter and so on. THIS IS NOT A BOOK THAT IS A ONE TIME READ! It took me quite a few reads before I truly understood and could put these priciples into action (And to be honest I am still working on some of them) But that being said, I wouldn't pass up the knowledge of ones self and the ability to look at life the way I now do, with little fear of opportunity and how to strive for what it is I want out of life, if I constantly pursue for ANYTHING!

Please read and enjoy!

Thanks for starting this board!!!

Re: Book suggestion

I promise to do a weekly training in this forum for those of you out there who want to actually do something on this earth besides passing through and cancelling out to be zero. I want to provide some education for those of you who want the world to know you were here, for you who aren't happy with just being the bug guy or the accountant, or the receptionist, or the CEO of a big company making the owners all the money. If you have an open mind and you're not brainwashed by society on how you need to go learn a trait or a task to make it, then it will be for you. My company is going to be sending me all over the US and I'd love to sit down with all of you individually and help you draw up a financial blueprint.

When is the last time your job sat down with you on the clock and explained to you your 401K? Never right? That's right.. I look at it like this.. Give a man a fish you feed him for the day, you teach a man to fish you feed him for a life time. I want to teach you all how to fish. I want to have Elite Fitness parties at my various houses and eventually meet every single person who is a regular contributor on here. Instead of kegs of beer, shit, I'll somehow find or construct kegs of Isopure. We'll take turns doing keg stands and have Myoplex bar eating contests and all get high off Oxycalm.. lol..

I truly think there is something special about this website. I count my blessings everyday and I'm blessed to have found this place. There are some amazing people on here with some amazing brains. I'd love to be part of bringing everyone closer together for a bigger cause. The fact is is that you are here because you are Elite. You are here b/c you're not lazy, you stand for something noble, your own health. You know that your body is your temple, everything you truly have. You are not average nor do you ever want your children thinking they are average or come from average.

Let me begin this vision one day at a time. Look forward to some financial training on here. I am looking forward to meeting all of you some day, getting a lot more traffic on this website, helping you make your fortune, and help George grow his even more. :) (Not that he needs it hehe) Let's not forget that he is the reason we are all here and for that, we should all be thankful.

T-Matt
