Help with Vascularity

Ive been working out for about a year... I just love the results I'm seeing! I've been gaining some nice femenine muscle. However, I would like to increase my vascularity. I just love to see the other gals in the gym pumping up those veins!! How do you get them to show more?? Mine are hiding!

Thanks!

Welcome! :) Glad you are here! :)

Vascularity often comes from low body fat. Once your BF is low enough, the veins have nothing to hide behind. :) Also, genetics has something to do with it - some people are just more prone to showing veins than others.

some things that help vascularity (pre-contest) are glycerol, niacin, vasodilator (rub on oil), and alcohol yes alcohol (red wine or vodka) oh and if you have been eating clean high levels of fat increase vascularity too

Hey, thanks for the advice!! I look forward to more veins... I think their hot! At least, I think they are hot on other girls... What do you think?

Hey fitgirl.....I just started to be able to see my veins...they don't pop out or anything but now I can see them where b4 I couldn't. It's crazy but sooo cool!

It is mostly about bodyfat. Less fat = more vascularity assuming normal hydration and electrolyte balance.

Great comments, ladies, and thanks.

I suppose I should ask before I focus on more vascularity, but can exposing those veins hurt them? I've seen some (mostly guys) whose veins are more than just visible, but get unnaturally big. What causes that? I want veins, but not HUGE veins. You know what I mean?

If anyone would like to post a pic of their veins, and tell me how they got there, that would be great!!

Thanks...

Somewhere in my reading, it said weight lifting actually causes vein walls to thicken somewhat in response to training (the pressure of all that pumping blood, I guess). And thicker stronger veins are a good thing. I think this too could contribute to vascularity, so keep training and give it time.

As for exposed veins being dangerous, I don't think so. Sometimes they'll scare other people though :D. One thing the exposed veins help with is keeping your body temperature cooler.
