Help with blood donation

I need some help with donating blood and the options that I have. Last year I went to the hospital to donate and filled out questionnaire honestly and told them I have done self-injections in the past. I realize now that this was a stupid move but was thinking that I didn’t want anyone to get hurt by taking my blood. Anyway they put me on a permanent deferral which they say is mandated by the FDA. Basically I can NEVER give blood there.


What other options do I have? Can I go to Red Cross or somewhere else or will they get hospital’s records? I’m concerned that my hematocrit and RBC are high but I won't find out for sure in a couple weeks when I get a blood test done.

Yeah I can’t give blood either due to me fighting in desert storm, my doc is going to just drain some blood out of me due to high red blood cell count

you should be able to go to red cross and donate there

i don't know who is in what area but i use oneblood where i live. check their website and LIE your ass off on the questionarie
