Help me pick my cycle compounds.

So I been reading these logs all summer and it's about time I wrote one of my own. Been on the board a while, mostly just chiming in on other fellas threads. I'm Cody. 36 years old, 5'7", 205 pounds.

Right now I'm just cruising on test. That's it, that's the whole list, and that's been the whole list for a long time. I'm the guy who's been telling everybody else on here to keep it simple, one compound at a time, start low, don't touch something you can't name a reason for.

So this post feels a little strange to write. I'm 36 and I have never once in my life been really lean. Not real like single digits, not ever. I've been lifting on and off since HS and I watch fellas on this board get somewhere I never been and it got to me. Before I'm 40 I want one real shot at seeing what's actually under here. Not a little cut. I wanna push it, get as ripped as I can get, somewhere in an 8 to maybe 10 week window.

So here's the part I need you bros help cause I have not used too many things. I don't have the experience to pick what gets me from being this cautious cruiser to actually dieted ripped down hard without doing something stupid.

So I'm asking straight what would y'all run for an 8 to 10 week hard cut, on top of a test base?

Current bloods, pulled a couple weeks back while still on cruise. hematocrit 47, hemoglobin 15.8, HDL 42, LDL 110, ALT 32, AST 28, blood pressure 128 over 78. Wherever this ends up, these are the before numbers, and I'll pull again once finished.

Whatever y'all talk me into, I'm gonna learn it before I run it, and I'm gonna post this log honest the whole way, good weeks and bad ones.

Probably anavar is what I would pick for you.

Welcome to logging, brother.

What’s your weekly test mg?

Honestly, you could get away with just the addition 2-3ius of HGH nightly. Once you’ve gauged your reaction to HGH, add in .5-1mg of Reta - if you really want to add something else in.

Nice work brother, will make sure I follow the log when it’s up,

For me personally it’s been Reta as the main mover started really low .5mg still hit me like a Mack truck, lost over 20kg on it but that was over 5-6 months. then the basics increased cardio 20 min hard on the bike before ever lift & as many steps as possible throughout the day.
Recently added in SLU-PP32 at 10MG a day pre workout I’m really liking it making cardio easier & definitely helping in fat / cal burning.

Bros, I'll talk you into getting a log going so we can learn more about you and get you back where you need to be.

Brother, if you want to dial in hard like a bodybuilder in prep mode, get cut in 10-12 weeks. Run a Test Base 300mg for 8-12 weeks of it. Run Reta like @MJL95 suggested. Clen for 10 weeks, T3 for 12 weeks at 25mcg per day

So for a fat loss phase, why specifically do I personally like using multiple different compounds?

The first thing is that I’m not just throwing drugs at fat loss and hoping they do the work. Everything needs to have a specific purpose, and the foundation still has to be energy balance, nutrition, training, steps and recovery.

You first have to understand what body fat actually is. At its simplest, it’s stored energy.

Before adding anything, establish where your baseline energy expenditure sits. What does bodyweight do at a given calorie intake, activity level and step count? Once you understand that baseline, you can create the required energy deficit through nutrition and activity, with the balance between the two based around what best preserves training performance, recovery and muscle tissue.
Only then do you start looking at where different compounds may fit.

You’ve got compounds that can influence lipolysis, which is essentially the mobilisation of stored triglycerides into free fatty acids that can become available for oxidation. That includes beta adrenergic agonists such as clenbuterol and albuterol, adrenergic compounds such as yohimbine and rauwolscine, and milder stimulants such as caffeine and synephrine.

Then you have compounds working through completely different pathways, such as PPAR agonists like cardarine, or GH derived peptides such as GH Frag and AOD 9604 that have been investigated specifically around metabolic and lipolytic pathways.

The important part isn’t simply knowing the names of these compounds. It’s understanding what pathway each one influences, what evidence actually supports it, what risks come with it, and whether there is genuinely a reason for it to be there.
Then you’ve got something like retatrutide. Its glp1, gip and glucagon receptor activity can have significant effects on appetite, energy intake and energy expenditure. Again, though, it isn’t magic. Its value is in how those mechanisms can support the overall environment required for fat loss.

Then there’s the mitochondrial side of the equation.

Mitochondria are fundamental to cellular energy metabolism and fatty acid oxidation. That’s why mitochondrial function interests me so much. There are various experimental peptides and compounds being investigated for effects on mitochondrial signalling, biogenesis and metabolic function.

But this is also where I think people need to separate mechanistic theory from proven human outcomes. Improving a mitochondrial marker on paper doesn’t automatically mean dramatically greater fat loss in the real world. Each compound needs to be assessed individually rather than assuming that stacking multiple “mitochondrial” agents automatically produces an additive benefit.

The bigger picture is what matters.
Create the energy deficit. Keep health parameters in check. Maintain sufficient food to support training and recovery. Preserve muscle tissue. Keep performance as high as possible. Then, where appropriate, use additional tools to influence appetite, energy expenditure, substrate mobilisation or other metabolic pathways.

That’s the environment I’m trying to create.
Instead of continually bullying the body into losing more weight by slashing food lower and piling more cardio on top, the goal is to make the entire process as efficient and sustainable as possible. If that allows calories to remain higher, recovery to remain better and gym performance to stay stronger, you’ve created a much better environment for retaining muscle and potentially maintaining or even progressing performance while body fat comes down.

That’s ultimately how I look at setting up a fat loss phase.

Understand the physiology first. Establish the nutritional and activity foundation. Understand exactly what every additional tool is supposed to contribute and what its limitations and risks are. Then structure everything around preserving health, muscle, recovery and performance while creating the conditions required for fat loss.

You combine that level of understanding with the ability to walk into the gym and train like a fucking animal, and you can do some pretty fucking incredible things to your physique.
