Help ME become Mr. Sexy

Hey guys. I need some help here. I'm trying to get buff, but I'm not going for strength or power for football or powerlifting or anything like that. The only sport I'm going to play is probably tennis(don't laugh :D ). I want to look sexy. For girls, you know. I also want to build up a bit of endurance and stamina. How should my diet/workout routine look like? Right now I'm almost 16, weigh 135 lbs(some muscle, less fat than average person), bout 5"6. Come on guys, help me get sexy! Then get sex. Don't you just love that part about high school? :D

See, that's the thing, I am doing this for girls AND for me. If I look sexy I'll be proud of myself and have alot more self-confidence and just overall feel better about myself. A good body is something that I admire and aspire to have. Even if it wasn't for the ladies I'd still want to look good.

I understand, I've been there myself in my younder years:)
Definitely helped my self confidence to no end. Especially at the beach, the stares were worth all the effort :D

just your basic old school beginner routine will get you on the road.

one major exercise per musclegroup, 3 sets of 10, 3 times a week - monday, weds and friday

sorted ;)

But lift for you, and only you. Everything else should take a backseat.

True dat.

Lift for yourself first. EVERYTHING else, including the women-folk, will fall into place.

Working out to gain muscle is inherently to attract girls. If you think otherwise, you're fooling yourself.

Yeah it feels good, but there are other ways to feel good and exercise without going through the immense effort it takes to build muscles (training, diet, drugs etc etc).

Bottom line is: if you're not working out to look better for girls, you're working out to look better for guys. Pick one. I pick the former.

Your statement is filled with bulls**t. I don't work out to get guys or girls. . . I workout to make self improvements in strength so I can perform better in other athletics. I could care less what other people think. . .I do this for myself. Those who think working out is designed to pick up the opposite sex obviously has no clue what hard core training is all about. Those who are looking to pick up guys or girls obviously aren't going to be in the gym squatting and deadlifting over 500lbs for reps. In the meantime, all you pretty boys and girls can huddle together into the gym and perform your bench presses and curls so you can pick up the opposite sex. . . thats your business.

That's precisely what this thread is all about.

Louden swain is right that guys don't do grueling 500 lbs squats and deadlifts to be Mr. Sexy....

However a lot of guys initially enter the gym because they feel scawny and don't want to be pushed around by the local schoolyard bully and want to be mr sexy....

However some of them fall in love with the iron game itselve. The boost in testosterone and the adrenaline rush and also build their confidence on gains in strength/weight (for some this can even lead to obsessive behaviour)

Personally I am in it for looks, I favour The symmetrical Zane look over the bulky Yates look. Ever since age 6 I was astounished by the way the old cultures of the Greek, egyptian and renaissance gave shape to uberperfect female/male bodies in paintings and marble objects...

This facsination took a backseat during adolescense but at age 22 I decided that since I was not a big painter I should find another to craft my own work of art.... 10 years of roid-free training later I can carefully say that the raw sketch is somewhat completed

Maybe you are not willing to invest 7-10 years of training to get there, but maybe someone with roid experience can give you some "become mr. sexi in 3 years" advice.

With or without roids. You have to bust your balls in the gym and one of the best ways is to do that is to use use a top-down approach where you start your workout with the largest exercises working towards the tiny exercises.

for instance chest, start with barbell presses in a low reprange to hit the white fibres and to create spillover strength in delts and triceps wich will add in their development as well...

6-4-6 reps flat benchpress
6-4-6 reps incline benchpress

Still compound but using dumbells we continue, making up for the lighter weight by increasing time unde tension

3 * 10 flat dumbell press
3 * 10 incline dumbell press

next we choose exercises that force us to use even less weight, but wich are perfect to milk out our degraded strength levels....

3 * 10 incline flyes upersetted with dips
3 * 10 cable cross or peck-deck supersetted with dips

on these last two exercise you should really focus on using strict form, good stretch and hold the peak contraction for 1.5 second...

Likewise for delts:

8-6-8 beh neck press
8-6-8 mill press/standing push press

3 * 12 dumbell arnold press
3 * 12 barbell upright row
3 * 12 dumbell press

peak contraction exercises:
3 * 12 plate raises
3 * 12 sumbell front raises
3 * 12 1 arm dumbell side raises
3 * 12 2 arm dumble side raises

Hey that's an awfull lot of volume I can hear some people say and i think i am a volume monster because i got a good amount of slow twitch that i just can't kill using the barbell presses alone, Typically people with more white white fibres can do with exploiting their strength on the barbell using a 5 * 5 routine and maybe do some set of 4 * 8 dumbell presses after that and call it a day....

Louden is right. I see your point nb, but this is bullshit. I started lifting to be a better fighter. I stopped fighting, and now I lift to be a better lifter. I bust my ass around the clock so I can get that 600lb deadlift up soon, or the 315 military, not so I can fuck that knuckleheaded gym hottie. I'm engaged so I could give a fuck what women think of me. Its all about getting that bar to go where you want it to.

If your theory held any water at all I would have stopped training 4 months ago when I got engaged right?

That's gymTIME. Get it right. :)

If you really want to be Mr. Sexy, get some leather pants and some Aqua-Net. Fuck training if that's all you want. Believe it or not, alot of girls don't give a shit about your body, unless you're sickly skinny or morbidly obese. You want to do it for yourself, but girls too? I think you want to do it for yourself so you can improve your chances of getting the girl.

Uhhh, this is getting a bit out of hand. Let me restate the meaning of this thread: I want to have a sexy looking body, not win a friggin deadlifting competition.

You know how there are those guys at the gym that girls say have sexy bodies, but you look at them and laugh because they can't squat 500 pounds like you? Yes, I want to look like that. Why? I have a thing for petite girls, and most petite girls are scared of guys that can deadlift 600 pounds. So there you go. I look forward to hearing your advice.

p.s. No comments about aquanet, leather pants, gator boots, or how I'm lame because I'm not aiming to squat 800 pounds someday. Please.

no worries man... these guys are just expressing their opinions like you. Do the same routines as these guys do, just dont eat a shitload. Add some cardio. Diet and calories eaten seem to be key things above all. Hit the weights hard, eat healthy, do some cardio. But what do i know....

i hate to rant like everybody else, but it's true. if you're in this for chicks, you're in for the wrong reason. now, if you had goals made for yourself in having a better body, chicks would be a great benefit of lifting. you can get farther in this sport than the pec deck boys and still get lots of ladies

I think some of you guys are kidding yourselves....You forget so easily how you initially got into lifting.

I do not kid myself...my initial reasoning for getting into lifting was revenge on an ex girlfriend, who I wanted to see me the next semester and be wow'ed.....I never got more reaction from women in my life than when I was 180lbs, 7% bf...

NOW, that being said, over time your desires/goals start changing and you realize "screw what women think, this is fun" or "let's see how big I can get", etc.

I'm about 215-220 right now, bigger than I've ever been...guess what, I don't get chicks for shit b/c at my height, I'm a pretty big dude...many of my girl-friends tell me that they were intimidated by me when they first met me. My own girlfriend now tells me that she is used to dating skinny guys and if she had her way, I'd be back down to 175-180ish.

Regardless, girls were the reason I got into it...and many of you have forgotten that its the reason you got into it as well. This kid is in highschool...he hasn't had the life lessons you all have had or the "revelations" that impressing someone else ain't worth it.

Cut him some slack, he has to learn the same things we had to learn. Just because he doesn't want to dead lift a lot or become a bodybuilder or powerlifter doesn't make him better than us as a human being...it just means he has different tastes. Never start thinking you're better than someone b/c you're more hardcore than someone...b/c then you turn into one of "those guys" in the gym that everyone thinks is a prick.

Sure I laugh at the newbies in the gym who are cheat-swinging 35 lbs dbells for curls...but you know what, I am just as likely to give them helpful advice if they come up to me or if I know them b/c I remember that I was once in their shoes as well.

i'd start with a brazilian wax, chic's don't like hairy asses. i'd follow that with electric hot pink spandex shorts, a black string tank top, wig wam sox, and white otomix, knee high booties. if that doesn't scream sex machine i don't know what does. this with 100 grams of protein a day and some pilates classes will have you well on your way to mr. sexy high schooler, 2002.

Getting to have a sexy body regards discipline, constancy and patience. It may not be easy to have the body you want in just a couple of months, but rather with many time effort... sometimes years. My advice is that there are four important things that you'll have to remember diet according to your needs, training, rest and attitude.... because girls are not solely attracted by sexy bodies.

Okay I have a few quick(and some not so quick) questions:

1) I've lost alot of bodyfat and I'm building my ab muscles up, but only the top 4 are showing. What's up with that? Basically what I *think* I need is a completely new ab routine that incorporates my lower ab muscles.

2) Is it worthwhile to build up my obliques? Do they have a function? Do defined obliques make you look better?

3) Why is sugar bad? I've heard it decreases protein synthesis, but I've also heard that sugar after a workout is good for you. Can someone shed some light on this for me please?

4) Yeah I have more but I can't really remember right now.... So I'll ask later. Thanks in advance. I look forward to hearing your replies.

1. either you need more ab/oblique thickness or lower bodyfat

2. obliques look good and they help stabilize and stuff

3. simple carbs, sugar, get stored as fat more easily. glucose would be alright right after a workout because your muscles already burned up their stores

4. ask more questions

it's really late. i hope some of what i'm saying right now makes sesne

highschoolsucksalot,

We all collect fat in different places. You might have a very thin layer covering your lower portion. Yes, include some lower ab work. As long as you stay active and burn calories you should be able to shed bodyfat. Getting the lower abs to show is very difficulty for most people.

2) Is it worthwhile to build up my obliques? Do they have a function? Do defined obliques make you look better?.
I would not build up the obliques. Believe it or not, they are one of the fastest growing muscles in the body. If you use weighted ab exercises or twists, you run the risk of thickening the waist line. This is considered unaesthetic when achieving a nice physique. Function: Both the internal and external obliques are responsible for trunk rotation and lateral flexion of the torso. Trunk rotation is produced when one internal oblique and the opposing external oblique contract. Lateral trunk flexion, or bending to one side, is produced when both the internal and external oblique of a given side contract simultaneously.

3) Why is sugar bad? I've heard it decreases protein synthesis, but I've also heard that sugar after a workout is good for you. Can someone shed some light on this for me please?
Most Americans consume way too much sugar. Excessive sugar intake can result in a gain in fat pounds. Sugar is also responsible for speeding up the process of tooth decay and is known to throw off blood sugar levels if eaten in excessive amounts. Ingesting simple sugars after a workout is a good idea, because when you workout you consume energy. Your body needs to restore its energy level immediately after your workout. Simple sugars are easy to digest and can help facilitate this process. Of course, you need to eat some complex carbs as well. Overall, sugars have their place, but it is more important to consume complex carbs (oatmeal, bread, potatoes, and pastas). You can typically tell when you are on a high carb diet when you have bouts with severe gas. . . believe me, I know!

4) Yeah I have more but I can't really remember right now.... So I'll ask later. Thanks in advance. I look forward to hearing your replies.
As far as your training is concerned. . . make your routine fun. Since you are training for looks, use a mixture of free weights and machines. You might want to consider a circuit program. Each workout can last 30 to 45 minutes for at least 3 to 4 days per week. If you are looking to shed some fat pounds, stay away from the sugary empty calorie foods. Be sure to eat, your body needs the fuel. I wish you luck!

Ummmm.....horseshit.

I never got into weight lifting for girls. I got them anyway. I got into this because I was picked on, pushed around and harassed. I wanted to have more respect for myself and, to be dead honest, to beat up the bullies. Now that I am married with children, I want to be able protect my family from this messed up world we live in.

Giving advice to people, no matter the reason they are lifting, is not the issue here. Don't presume to tell me why I do this. I KNOW WHY! And it's not now, nor has it ever been, for girls.

Okay, you want to look like Brad Pitt in Fight Club, yes? No? Here's the program, made simple: Get your ass in the gym, lift hard, then eat some quality food. Try to eat mostly unprocessed stuff, but alot of it. Do some cardio, 3 to 5 days a week. The fat storage pattern you described is just like mine, and I don't have an answer yet. Don't worry about winning a deadlift competition, you're not gonna w/the body you're aiming for, which is fine. That's what you want, go for it. Nothing wrong with that. Set a goal, get to it, you're a better person for it. That being said... I still don't see how the leather pants, gator boots and aqua-net are going to hurt your chances at being Mr. Sexy.
P.S. - Not all chicks care that much about sexy bodies, no matter what the media says.

You want the kind of girls that like guys with petite little sexy bodies?
Get a fast car
Get a really nice house
AND make sure you plan on spending (wasting) a shitload of money on them bc that is what is going to happen with girls like that.

If a girls says she thinks I am hot bc I workout a little more than most peeps, or something to that effect. I simply tell her to have a nice day, and stop wasting my fucking time.

Another question, if I binge and eat 5,000+ calories or something in one meal, can my body really absorb that many calories? How bad will it affect my body?

More questions coming in a little while...

More questions-

1) What is the perfect after-workout food?

2) What should I eat for breakfast? (carbs, protein, fat?)

3) What is a good way to increase my side-to-side leap? (going for distance, not height)

4) What are some quick, healthy, CHEAP, easy to make meals? (Preferably something you can buy in the grocery store)

5) What are the advantages of running on the ground as opposed to running on the treadmill?

Now I just need more answers!

1) whey protein
2) i dont eat too many carbs in the morning, i get sick sometimes
3) not my area of expertise, ask coolcolj
4) milk, eggs, PB and J, oatmeal, etc
5) again, not my area

Thanks anyway. Running/endurance/speed is really important, I'm going to play tennis and am considering joining the track team.

One more Q and two other things-
1) How long after a workout/run should I eat? Should I just eat immediately after?

2) I drink alot of water, but having to piss all the time is a bitch. Especially at school where the bathrooms suck and people try and jack your backpack while you pee

3) When you guys had the opportunity to rag on me this thread was quite popular. Now that you have the opportunity to help me, it's nearly empty except for just one considerate person. Come on guys, help a brother out here.

1. I eat within 30 minutes. I think if you eat soon you ought to be alright.

2. At my school, we wear our backpacks in the bathroom. We don't take them off. Don't take it off and no one can steal it.

You ask a lot of questions man. I respect that, but damn.

Here....

When at the gym---
Deadlift
Squat
Military
Bench
Clean

When outside the gym---
-Drink a shit load of water
-Eat lots of food (a decent sum every couple hours)
-Up your protein
-Sleep as much as you can
-Make a schedule and stick the fuck to it
-Don't drink
-Don't party
-Don't smoke
-Don't drink soda
-Buy a cheap whey protein powder(optimum nutrition 100%whey is good

Go buy some overpriced trendy clothes, listen to rap, and you're set

Thats it

1)What was recommended to me once: immediately after training
some carbs (50grs) with a high GI, 10 mins later protein shake with water and 2 hours later a real meal.
It was explained to me that the carbs will give an insuline spike which is good direct after workout.

2) that gets better with time.

Can I make a suggestion?

Try the old school 5x5 routine. I know that`s not your plan because that will "bulk you up" but if you`ve never done this before, once you get a taste of how big your muscles can grow you`ll be like F the pretty muscles and let me get HUGE. lol
It`s pretty hard to pack on lots of muscle anyway so you may get the results your looking for while doing this routine, of course diet permitting. Then when yor bigger and have some experience you can decide which route to take= more muscle or cutting up/diet down. good luck to you
