Healthy fats while on cycle

How many of you increase or decrease the amount of healthy fats while you are on cycle?

OFF CYCLE
1 - What form of healthy fats do you take in? Flaxseed oil? Omegas?
2 - What dose and form (capsules, liquids, DSMO <--kidding)
3 - When do you take them (dosing schedule)


Now when you are on cycle, does the above differ? If so, what are YOUR reasons for it?
 
always Fish Oil caps (blended omega 3, omega 6), olive oil, and raw walnuts. just more or less depending on off/on and bulk/cut.

btw stay away from flax - the lignans increase SHBG and lower free test levels

Now when you are on cycle, does the above differ? quantities. i simply dont limit myself on the intake of oil to cook with or ounces of fish. i easily double my intake If so, what are YOUR reasons for it? honestly it has more to do with increased caloric intake than anything.

for the fish oil caps - if on and cutting, 1 in am. if on and bulking 3x a day - people take alot more tho

these are Puregels brand (costco i think) mega dose 1,000 mg (300mg epa, 200mg dha)

Isn't that a low dose? I am using 2 per serving (2 servings per day with a whey shake)
 
Flax is estrogenic.

Fish oil is great but you might as well get it from fish. Personally, I can't stand the smell and bad breath once the capsules dissolve in your stomach.

Good old olive oil is great. You can't get too much.

BIG BLAST contains egg yolk fat, which scares some people because of the cholesterol but remember, testosterone is made from cholesterol. And egg albumin is the only food that contains all the ingredients to create life. An amazing food actually. No wonder the old timers used to eat a dozen a day.

fuck if I knew flax is estrogenic.....that sucks....

I'll stick to fish oil.

i use to take three a day of the regular strength, now with the triple only one. i only weight 185lbs as well so i probably wouldn't take as much as you.
 
I take 3mg per day EFA's ... 3- 1000mg caps... Well, I TRY to take 3 a day, sometimes I miss them, sometimes I take two... but 3 is my desired dose.

I also take in 4 tbs per day of Olive Oil.

Im currently cutting on circa 2200 calories per day
 
I use olive oil. 15 grams in a shake during the day and another 15 in my bedtime shake. Otherwise it's from whole food sources. Fish, beef, nuts. etc.

On cycle- I might add another shake and simply eat more fats in general.
 
If trying to break through a plateau, taking more arachidonic acid will definitely help. Otherwise, I am a big fan of Krill Oil for general wellness. Much better than regular fish oils, IMO. A lot of supporting data too.
 
Nelson - I hear you on the bad breath comments.

I am talking just general wellness and heart healthy.
 
I take in the same amount of EFA's / "healthy fats" regardless of being on or off... it's mostly the carbs that I regulate if dieting or bulking.

I stopped taking flax oil a few years back when I read it was estrogenic, now I use fish oil (liquid - Health From the Sea) - 1 tablespoon with my casein shake before bed.
If I've run out, I'll substitute olive oil.

I also eat raw almonds every day, olive oil with anything I cook, raw organic pumpkin and sunflower seeds whenever I can (good fats as well as zinc and selenium), and avocado's.

As a side-note, I've started using CLA recently - I'll use it for a month or two to see what results I get.
 
I don't particularly like the taste/breath thing either that Nelson mentioned but I take Salmon Oil Plus caps and 3 a day. That totals EPA - 460mgs, DHA - 480mgs and DPA - 50mgs.

also I Agree with Nelsons love of Eggs , I am a firm believer in an am dose of Eggs for breakfast ed....and or supp with it.

I also make sure I get my CLA from red meat e2d or 3rd day and have a heavy serving as well ( like 2 steaks or so)

Also Olive oil as a staple of course :artist:

Krill is the lastest and greatest... But the SMELL is like bad "Pune"... :daisy:
 
Using Olive oil is good, but often the olive oil is pretty useless due to processing.
