have you ladies tried DHEA?

whats do you think of it?

Very nice boost in energy and very good strength gains. Took the Dermacrine product (transdermal), but experienced diminishing returns pretty quickly after the first bottle. Probably best results lasted about 6 weeks.

I suspect someone 40 or older would likely experience more of a consistent benefit. I took it two years ago at age 24.

notice any negative sides? what was your dosage?

The full recommended dosage. You'd have to check the primordial performance website to find out how much DHEA that contained. No, no sides. It's pretty tame stuff. (not that sides couldn't potentially occur though) It was the 1-T Tren that changed my voice a bit and thickened up my happy trail some. The latter is far stronger than the Dermacrine.

yes, def compared to other things. its just that DHEA levels typically peak by the time people are in their 20s. thats why asked about the negative sides. but overall i'm very attracted to the benefits this supplement might produce.

I took it orally about 10 years ago or so and decided to drop it, it started giving me palpitations that freaked me out :whatever:

Granted, I think the oral dose, despite the fact I tried to buy the smallest dosage available, was probably WAY higher than was needed for a female who wasn't postmenopausal. Also, I had other health issues going on, so I can't entirely blame it on the DHEA. However, google DHEA and heart palpitations and you will find numerous hits so I'm just FYI-ing you. And the flutters stopped when I dropped the DHEA. It's something to keep in the back of your mind, that's all.

what dosage MM?
Im curious being 32 and seeing a sudden aging going on with me (nah, no stress here!)

Ten years ago, who knows? The smallest doseage formulation the vitamin shoppe sells, taken once per day :whatever:

32, oh hush, you're still a kid! I got 12 years on you! Honestly, I feel better now than I did when I was your age but I was just at the beginning of getting the whole GI/general allergy/low adrenal issue thing unravelled by then. I'm stronger than I was then, generally healthier ... for everything else, I keep the lighting low in the house :D

Ebony, here's the exact product I used. I took the recommended dose which supplied 72mg of DHEA. IIRC you cannot make comparisons between oral and transdermal DHEA b/c the route effects the amount that actually makes it to the bloodstream.

Dermacrine - Boosting Testosterone with Topical DHEA and Pregnenolone

thanks for the link chica, might need it later! but i did go and get the lowest dose bottle from gnc, 25mg. i'll see how i react to it before going that high though. but at 72mg and no sides is really encouraging!

MM, thanks for the heads up! i'm gonna read some more on that.

Actually I wonder if the potential for virilizing sides is potentially greater with the orals. You get far more of a sustained release from the transdermal app, which obviously keeps serum levels of the hormone lower. With the oral you get a spike, then nothing, then spike then nothing. The TD app takes six hours to fully absorb into the blood stream, then takes another 12 hours or so to get used, so you're actually getting the 72mg over something like an 18 hour period. Keeping blood levels constant is the best way to make strength and/or size gains from any steroid.

i thought about that, well not the sustained release part. nice observation though, didn't even think about that. I'm really hoping not any type of "spike" occurs with such a low dosage(25mg).

however there are personal reason right now though that i don't want to have any kind of "medication" on my skin where it is possible to transfer to another...

Understood.

If you've decided you only want to do 25mg, I'd say don't bother taking it within the first two hours of rising, as your natural androgen production is already peaked during that time anyway. Then split that pill and separate the doses by 6 hours at least. Taking it close to bedtime will cause some transitory insomnia, but you'll acclimate to that within just 2-3 days. (If it's a cap you can pull it apart pretty easily with a gentle twisting motion, pour half into the crease of a folded sheet of paper, take it, and close the cap again to take the remaining later)

thanks chica. was thinking about taking it about an hour before lifting, in the evening. or maybe with a small meal in the afternoon along with some fish oil and green tea. yep they're capsules. i also take vitamin c and b-complex. but thats it. i take my multi vitamin with post workout meal at night(bed time). what you think? good plan? afternoon and evening?
