Good for you. My best friend had issues with me when I came out to him. He was stuck with this idea that because I was gay and he was a man that I must automatically want to have sex with him.

He said as a straight man he tends to see all women (even those he's not attracted to) as sex objects. So he figured that everyone does this. This is silly since he knows how particular my taste is.

Interesting point about social norms, etc. In this society, a lot of people view male homosexuality as "sissy," or whatever. If you do a little research, you learn that it wasn't always so.
