has lifting effected your posture?

Just wondering if anyone has noticed positive or negative effects on their posture since jacking iron. since i have been pumping the bad boys, my posture has changed(taken tests) in some ways better, but also for the worse. My upper back sticks out because of lat thinkness and so my lower back is slightly arched...............aka bad posture! but the chest, shoulders and head are fine.
Just wondering if anyone has taken a test before and after lifting and seen differences?

i hear u man, I noticed that also on me. when i look in the mirror is looks like my neck is pushed forward.

My chiropractor told me to lay off on pectoral and bicep work as it is bringing my neck forward in front of my shoulders, thus causing a malalignment in my upper spine. This has resulted in chronic shoulder and elbow pain, especially when doing bicep and shoulder work. Damn it all:bawling:

Hey Glootz...At least ya look great:twirl:

I've noticed my posture seems a lot better (I haven't had it tested by a chiropractor, however). I've been told that I look taller (by relatives/friends that I haven't seen in a while), but I think its just because I'm naturally standing up straighter now. My back also feels much better. I had some minor problems with it when I was younger, non of which seem to be bothering me now. I definetly feel lifting has helped my posture. As long as you have relatively equal strength in your chest, abs as you do in your back/lower back it seems like you should be ok...

work on tucking your chin when you do seated rows, squats etc. those are the big ones for overfacilitating the sternocleidomastoid which is causing your forward head. do some stretches for your neck, sleep with a smaller pillow or if you sleep on your back without a pillow. assess if you have a low shower head and its causing you to duck your head all the time. when you sit at the computer, try to sit up and dont lean forward. when driving put your head on the headrest as much as possible.

just a few hints.
trust me, tons of stuff is at fault not just lifting, its our lifestyles that dicatate how we look.
